i've used adhesive-backed LED strips. what i did was hot glue them in place, so 1] they'd be a little more sturdy, because the adhesive is not very strong, and 2] so the adhesive would be completely covered up if the strip was pulled down, removing the risk of the strip getting stuck to the snake.
with that said, i ended up taking down those lights and plan to install these soon. i feel better having things securely bolted in place.
Would these be good grow lights? If I buy them, I would put two strips on a 2' bookshelf.
