Transmissions exist to solve a problem that electric motors do not have. So no.

Maybe you can get one of these and pretend.

I can attest that this shifter for the Logitech G29 would suit your needs and can be moved/shifted without any kind of power. You could mock up a bracket or some way to attach it to a cup holder or something and you'd be golden.

Just look at their store, everything is priced with the same pattern:

Logitech G400 $138.31 other sellers $68.89

Logitech G Driving Force Shifter $229.99 other sellers $55

Logitech MX Sound 2.0 $299.99 other sellers $99.99

Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 $293.19 other sellers $50.99

Do you still want to argue if this is an algorithm bug or a scummy seller issue?

You could just get a PC shifter like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Z0UWV3O/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_RsIRDb2Z98SKF

If that's too spendy, maybe try and find an old crappy used on on eBay or Craigslist.

Problem with a real shifter is that it's not going to be any better than like a plunger or something unless it's actually attached to the transmission. It'll just flop around and there'll be nowhere to mount it to. This thing you could just clamp to a desk or something

Yeah that's separate, unfortunately. Cheaper at Amazon. I've never seen the entire bundle go for $200, but the wheel and pedals commonly drop to this price point around Black Friday.

Swiped this from Slickdeals. Any racing game fans out there? I bought one myself along with the shifter.

Here's other sites:

  • G920: Click here Sold out, might come back in stock so you can still try checking.

  • Shifter: Click Here Sold out, might come back in stock so you can still try checking.

  • Best Buy sale: Use promo code PCGAMEDEAL Only G920 is in stock at the moment.

Edit: Everything is sold out. Man that was fast. Logitech, Amazon, and Best Buy making bank on us.

  • Would you like to shift gears to answer? Reverse for again, Gear 1st for Hard...
Logitech G Driving Force Shifter, 60$

  • How about leg pedals? For super lazy people!
CH Products Pro Pedals USB Flight Simulator Pedals, 121$ (too costly)

  • Hey, how much do you mean by "good money"? Willing to buy a VR headset? Answer with your eyes? (There could be cheaper solutions for the same too. Lemme know if you want to explore this)

  • Or you could use voice recognition (you can set easy to recognize words and syllables. Or taps)

  • You could also use hand waving gestures.

  • If you wanna go super duper lazy, you could use a EEG headset like Emotiv and answer with just your thoughts! (yep, it's not sci-fi and is actually not expensive!)

At the end of the day, there are tons of options.

However, you should NOT be lazy while doing Anki reviews. When you do reviews, your brain picks up subtle clues from the environment. If you do Anki reviews on your bed daily, your bed will become the place where you can recollect this info the easiest. Recollection on other places will be more difficult. and you don't want your bed to be your most productive area :)

are you talking about the G driving force shifter..that looks like the same cheap garbage that came with my G25. i threw that out when i bought the TH8 shifter.

honestly looks like logitech keeps removing stuff. when the G27 came out the removed the option for sequential shifting then when the G29 they removed the extra buttons while keeping the same cheap plastic insides.

also stumbled upon the logitech shifter for $40 on amazon

In my area, a G29 or G920 goes from 200-300 dollars used on CL/OfferUp. G27's also are found frequently at that price (but clearly are overpriced if you consider their newer generation).

You can also get a G920 refurb'ed at 219 + brand new shifter @ $55 ($274 total).

That means you're comparing:

$274 for newer generation, refurb w/ warranty, and $126 bucks left to get a chair and a rig. Chair and a rig at 126 might be a bit tough.

Or of course you can consider $274 G920/G29 + 150-200 for the stand (brand new). A little over $400, but you're getting newer generation and even a new stand. Grab your existing office chair and IMO G29/920 stands look better than this rig you're looking at.

But on the other hand... you could also consider:

A Thrustmaster stand @ $199 brand new and a brand new Thrustmaster T150 on this Newegg deal.

The T150 is $150 new, the T300 is $250 new, both would be much better than a used G27, come with full warranties, and the stand will be pretty good on floor real estate. BYOChair, but under $400 and all new seems like it might go better, IMO.

Note: this 150/300 pricing is a SALE price only from newegg for the next 5 days. After this sale, this calculus is only on point about the logitech stuff.

i was never a fan of racing games until i got my Rift. Old me would have laughed at the thought of spending hundreds of dollars on a "toy wheel." Well, i've been sucked in. Project Cars is tons of fun (Assetto Corsa as well), but be warned, it will tax your graphics card. With my OC 980ti I've had to tone down the settings a bit with med/low to get a stable 90fps. I dont have the space for a static driving cockpit/rig, so I got a Wheel Stand Pro to accompany my Logitech G920 wheel and shifter. It's not quite compact, but does fold up and can be easily moved to the corner and out of the middle of my office. A big plus. The wheel is nice and provides a decent level of feedback. I'm no pro when it comes to wheels and accessories, but I have been pleased. The wheel and shifter are a bit pricey, but i was able to find a deal on a good used one on ebay.

I'm assuming he has the h-shifter made specifically for the g29/g920. It's good, it works just fine although it feels very toyish. I'm eventually going to upgrade to the thrustmaster th8a shifter as it's not crazy expensive and word is it's among the best
