Logitech k400r wireless keyboard/mouse works great for me.

And it has the media icons printed on the function buttons which makes it simple to find the Volume Control, FF/REW/PLAY/PAUSE, buttons.

And the mouse click button in the upper left hand corner makes it very easy to hold and use without having to reposition your hands.

Definitely a different experience than using a remote, not in a bad way though. It just takes a little while to get used to....once your GF gets used to using the keyboard though she'll love it. Highly recommend going with the keyboard/mouse over the remote.

I use a chromebox as my set top box. Works with netflix great, Project Free TV works, other streaming sites work as well.

Supported video formats do work off external drives, but only tried once and the transfer speed was pretty bad. Might have been the old external hd.

I use this keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Keyboard-Multi-Touch-Touchpad/dp/B00ENZRP0G

I got myself one of these wireless keyboards with a touchpad and it has worked out pretty well. Very useful for adjusting the UI, TC, ABS, camera, video recording, etc. without much effort.

Don't get me wrong, AC should have D-pad support for the menus and stuff. But the keyboard is a much better interface IMO.

Hopefully they port the console menus to PC when they're done for those that want it.

You mean like surf the web or type documents on your laptop and have it project to your TV? Not wirelessly that I know of (unless you're referring to DLNA or something). You can do what I do and connect your laptop via HDMI into your xbox (where you would plug your cable box through). I find it easier to do online homework and type documents on a 50" TV. I also have this wireless keyboard connected to my laptop so I can use my laptop all the way from my couch while it's still plugged in to your xbox.

Not sure if this is precisely what you're looking for but thought I'd mention it.

Haven't messed with blue tooth, I'm using this wireless usb keyboard/mouse which works flawless as well as plug n play http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Keyboard-Multi-Touch-Touchpad/dp/B00ENZRP0G

Asus one has a little usb "dongle" that works nicely. It's black though so it's difficult to see the keys, so I just purchased this wireless logitech keyboard. My parents complain that they can't see the keys or the letters on the asus keyboard and they are lowercase so it's difficult to distinguish between the l and i especially in low light.

I purchased the asus i3 chromebox M075U from Amazon and it came with the keyboard/mouse

I've had my Gbox MX2 for about a month now and I love this thing. It comes loaded with the Android interface and has XBMC built in as well. What makes this thing great is that the company updates the firmware whenever there is a major update in XBMC so you are getting a personal update just for this little guy to continue being useful. Also it comes with a 1 year warranty, so if you receive a defective device or if it breaks randomly months after purchase then your all set. Also comparing to much of the cheaper devices out there it's fairly fast when browsing and loading.

For a while I was on the ropes of purchasing this or the RK3188 (it has better specs and is cheaper). But after having this thing for a month I doubt I'm going to bother getting it and just fill my apartment with more Gbox MX2's. The ONLY reason why I would consider maybe getting an RK3188 in the future is if I figure out how to run emulators on my Gbox w/ a Xbox controller and I need more power. At the moment I'm not sure how well the Gbox can handle emulator games.

EDIT: Here is the link to purchase:

Don't bother getting the $109 version of this, your money is better spent simply buying a 3rd party controller

I personally bought this keyboard/touchpad for it and works fresh out of the box w/o having to setup:

I don't know if lag will be an issue, but perhaps you should try a wireless keyboard+mousepad. If that one seems too large, try this other one.

This a better deal if you are looking for a keyboard for your surface
