Both LED and HID bulbs require a certain wattage or amperage to work. This means their resistance is also different from a normal bulb. My 2016 Optima has built in safety feature where it will only supply power to the headlight if it reads the correct resistance. To get around the safety feature, you will need an HID or LED ballast that can both power the bulb and send the correct resistance to the ECU.
