I know you're aiming for a standard "but what about men" argument but out of curiousity -- what do you think the gender balance of the rank-and-file would look like if you exclusively promoted men to senior positions?
If frequenting hard-right subreddits has left you feeling like thinking about gender issues is morally offensive (because they want you to think like that), here's how you can work out the answer with science (and food!):
First of all, buy yourself shitloads of black and white M&M's (if you haven't boycotted them for supporting gay pride or something) and split them evenly between two bowls.
In this experiment:
Now, for bowl number one, we're going to treat it like a perfect, angelic company that doesn't have filthy leftie gender quotas, nor does it have any form of sexism. So to represent this, just indescriminately grab fistfulls of candy and shove them in your gormless face.
Bowl number two however, represents the kind of sexist company that feminists are always getting their panties in a twist over but you don't think it actually exists because you've never seen it. To represent this, only eat the white candy from this bowl.
If 5 pounds of chocolate hasn't left you feeling diabetic enough, feel free to top up the bowls as often as you'd like -- as long as you add the same total candy to each, it won't effect the outcome at all.
Now.. after the doctors have amputated your toes and admonished you for attempting something that in the end wasn't even really science: Which bowl has the most black M&M's?
Edit: Reply away, but I've been banned for being "disruptive" -- a reason that is broad enough that it can be used to censor any dissenting opinion and keep this a happy little echo-y safe space. Be sure to check the public mod log for other dubious bans and deletions
