I have the cheap Mayflash 3-in-1 PS2/SS/N64 adapter. I've not tried it with PS2 but with Saturn I'm very happy with it.

Something like this may be a better investment for you if you still just want one player. It has a lot of extra functions, but I haven't personally tried it so it may add lag with all those extra features.
