Which country are you in? 3rd-party retailers may have stock and a better price than MSRP. You can purchase 3rd-party and within 2 weeks buy the MS complete extended warranty plan from MS if you provide proof of purchase date and proof that you didn't already break the machine.

In the USA, for example, several independent Amazon sellers have15" 512GB units in stock:

Thought it said 25XX but maybe I mixed my numbers around. So let's use the one you linked and compare. But including tax isn't really the way to go because that is different for each person based on where you live and which store you buy it from.

Surface Book 2- 1060, 512GB, 16GB =$2,650

XPS 15 2 in 1- Vega M, 512GB, 16GB= $2,350

So that's 300 dollars difference.

Anyway, my original point still stands. You can get a lot of battery life from a device just like the XPS 15 2 in 1. The Surface Book 2 has double.

Also I wouldn't compare the normal XPS 15 since that isn't really the same kinda machine.

For me personally, I'll likely still get a XPS 15 2 in 1, because if the 1080p version can get 8-9 hours that's fine for me. Also the SB2 doesn't have TB3 and has issues charging while under heavy use. Kind of a deal breaker for me.

Can you link it? I could only find this one for $2655. Comes out to $2920 after tax.

Over a year ago, the similarly specced 9560 from Microcenter was $1599 no tax.

To be honest, just a sleek watercooled pc inside one of those mini dan cases. Love me a small build. A 1080ti mini and a 2700x (I'll admit I'm an AMD fanboi) and I'd be a-ok. I just want something small and portable that I can bring around places (I'm living on campus in the near future so I want to bring something small I can fit comfortably in a small apartment without being a nuisance to my roommates). And this may besides the point, but I'd also take a surface book 2 to take notes on in class and for general productivity. Finally, I'd use the money I saved on NOT buying a threadripper or any intel chip on rent (not school tuition because I got a full ride thank god).

I would recommend this [Microsoft Surface Book 2] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076J15LKM/?tag=bkadamos_alltest-20) because it comes with everything you need, 8th generation, i7 quad core CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 16GB of ram for smooth multitasking, good SSD storage of 512GB for faster boot up and loading, 15 inch UHD IPS touch screen which is a must have for this price range, high build quality, GeForce GTX 1060 GPU that should be able to handle games on medium to high settings with very good FPs, and supports pen.

How about the [Surface Book 2] (https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Surface-Book-Intel-512GB/dp/B076J15LKM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1541072713&sr=8-3&keywords=microsoft+surface+book+2&linkCode=ll1&tag=gaming0789-20&linkId=a78112bb87dcffa6b3f8f55eb2b48bf8&language=en_US) which looks less like a gaming laptop. It comes with the latest i8 processor which is very fast, good gpu performance with is gtx 1060 anf a wonderful screen display.

this is everything i want but it's like 3000 dollars, might as well macbook pro at that point.

I don't see any indication of in-store SB2 deals from the black friday preview sites. That doesn't mean that deals couldn't happen in a cyber monday deal.

Try amazon.com instead. They frequently have awesome deals (shipped, sold by amazon.)

There is zero chance of a hardware update or new version of the SB2 so close to the prior Microsoft Hardware event... if anything was on the cards it would have been revealed at the event. Plan on late next year at the minimum for any new SB revisions.

You can get an even stronger 2-in-1 in your price range.

How about the Microsoft Surface Book 2? It has:

  • i7-8650U 4-core processor

  • 16 GB of RAM

  • 512 GB SSD storage

  • GTX 1060 6 GB graphics card

  • 3K 15" touchscreen and detachable display

  • Weight of 3.6lbs and battery life up to 17 hours

The laptop runs Windows 10 Home. It has a backlit keyboard. It appears to follow all of your specifications. Sadly, no numpad. It has a webcam. It should give excellent gaming performance with excellent portability.

I play on a surface book 2 15''. It's alright. Fame drop happens sometimes though.

then it's nearly a grand more [$2,656 at amazon] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076J15LKM/ref=asc_df_B076HZCQY95428825?smid=A1KIP93YSDA1Q7&tag=hawk-future-20&linkCode=df0&creative=395129&creativeASIN=B076HZCQY9&ascsubtag=trd-1253870251-20&th=1). I have myself assuaged over cloud storage and SD card as justification for the hit to hard drive space.

Dell agreed to the price match, and their hesitating seriously gave me time to lean towards the SB2. The thickness is not so much an issue, and this SB2 is actually lighter than the 9575. Something tells me the surface will hold up over time better than a dell too, but that may be bias.

I got a few hours till they agreed to call me and I'm scrambling for resources to help me make the decision >.< !!!
