I obviously don't know you or your SO, but I wanted to let you know that even with minimal disability from my MS, I still find the talk toilets and grab bars absolutely useful. I was actually shocked at how useful they were, because I'm not in any terrible state where you'd think I'd actually need them. Specifically the taller toilet, and the double bar that can be pushed up and out of the way, are super useful.
