I did contact Monoprice, Reseller and Amazon, reseller told me to contact Amazon, Monoprice told me to contact Amazon, and Amazon told me they can't replace it because it was sold by EuTronics but fulfilled by Amazon.

So i have to wait 2 weeks until i get a refund, then i have to order them again. But i didnt find any other place to order these in Europe.

Look up the reviews on these two. Monoprice planar headphones, if you haven't heard planar type headphones you're in for a treat. SMSL should drive them it has a 24 bit/192 kHz sample rate via optical and coaxial, and a 24 bit/96 kHz sample rate via USB. If your computer has coaxial spdif I'd do that, but USB should be fine too just limited to 96kHz but I think that's tidals max supported sample unless we add MQA but I don't care much about MQA.

Monolith M1060, K712, HD660s (Secondhand), DT1990 (secondhand) come to mind. I'm leaning towards the M1060 as top recommendation taking all that into account, but the build might seem "cheap" to you, I'll link them so you can see.

Also, you need something easy to drive. Probably these

I'm found ya a couple options for ya.

Planar Magnetic Headphones aka "special driver headphones"

Monoprice M1060s Perfectly fine stock, maybe a change of earpads if you're looking for something a little "more" https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-116050-Monolith-Magnetic-Headphones/dp/B01N32N5DD

Modhouse Argon Mk3s These are specially modded headphones that give you an option for choice of headband material and earpad material (sheep leather is soft man) http://www.modhouseaudio.com/argon-mk3/zimu3wz0oyxlavnprki2jovso6c31v

Dynamic Open Headphones aka, "normal headphones"

AKG K712 Pros Very accurate, lots of soundstage, plenty of bass You may have to get a used pair as prices are on the rise https://www.amazon.com/AKG-Pro-Audio-Reference-Headphones/dp/B00DCXWXEI

Philips X2/27 Almost the same as the 712s, a little more narrow of a soundstage and "possibly" less accurate Debatably less comf (comparatively speaking) Again, you'll need to get them used but they're cheaper used than 712s https://www.amazon.com/Philips-X2-27-Fidelio-Headphone/dp/B00O2Y2MZG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1522866842&sr=8-2&keywords=philips+x2

Audio Technica ATH AD series Very accurate, good soundstage, amazing treble, but definitely bass light. It's an entire series of headphones and each model up adds a slight bump in quality overall, used or otherwise https://www.amazon.com/Technica-Audiophile-ATH-AD1000X-Open-Air-Headphones/dp/B009S330O8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1522866903&sr=8-3&keywords=ATH+AD

Dynamic Closed Headphones

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Plenty of soundstage, treble is there, and BASS https://www.amazon.com/beyerdynamic-770-PRO-Studio-Headphone/dp/B0006NL5SM/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1522866927&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=beyerdynamic+dt770&psc=1

AKG K553 Pros Accurate, excellent mids, lacks soundstage but remarkably good build https://www.amazon.com/AKG-3280H00100-K-553-Pro/dp/B00X3MT7F6/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522866966&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=AKG+K550+Pros

Shure SRH840 Hesitant to put this on the list as this is basically how to perform studio monitoring Super Neutral, accurate as it gets almost, not a huge player in the soundstage game. You'll need new earpads for particularly long sessions of use https://www.amazon.com/Shure-SRH840-Professional-Monitoring-Headphones/dp/B002DP8IEK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522867035&sr=8-1&keywords=Shure+SRH840

And finally the Koss KSC75s get a pair, no exceptions. They are not a replacement for ANY of the other options on this list as they're closer to earbuds than headphones, but the amount of sound quality you get for their 15 dollar price point you should already own a pair https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1522867066&sr=8-1&keywords=koss+ksc+75

A few of these may be hard to drive on their own and may need a headphone amp or dac/amp combo to run properly and if you're not at ease with that right now there are always options.

If you need situational awareness, then the PM-3s are definitely a no-go. They are the most noise-isolating headphones I've ever heard that don't have active-noise-cancelling/

I'd recommend against spending too much on an amp if you are intending to match it to something in the <200USD range. Maybe a Nano BL and something in the 300USD range? I haven't heard it myself, but the subs gurus have been praising it to the high heavens.

In the 300USD range (for headphones), there's a ton of options: M1060, a newly discontinued HE 560, Senn HD 600, B&O H6 Gen 2. The options are endless.

DAC + amp - Audio-GD NFB 11.28
Headphones - Monoprice Monolith M1060

Then there's this USB you can use with the PS4 for your mic. Not sure if it would interfere with the DAC + amp - it shouldn't. There's also this Y adapter if you'd prefer that. I've never used a Modmic or any of these adapters, so I'm not fully certain how they work - I use a Blue Yeti so it's basically a different set up.

there are a BUNCH of options, but real quick from amazon I can tell you all of these will be phenomenal. their sound signatures will vary, but the build quality and sound will be excellent. none of them use the technical trickery that Bose is known for:

Sony is known for good gear, and the mdr 7520 are no exception. You'll even save a bit of money after shipping.

Klipsch too makes great gear, and these studio headphones will save you a hundred bucks and sound much cleaner than the Bose ones no noise cancellation though.

another killer pair of Sonys, these are ultra high resolution (up to an unnecessary 100khz response). between these and the 7520s will be a choice of sound signature

speaking of insanely accurate, these are probably the cheapest planar headphones on the market and reviews are really good of them.

All those are available in the 300-350 price range and much more technically advanced than Bose when it comes to sound. NONE have noise cancellation, because like I said, Bose is still the best at that.

Damn all these deals on Headphones today I'm loving them! I've been looking into getting headphones and I'm narrowing it down to Monoprice Monolith M1060's or the Sennheiser HD 650 but honestly these deals are still tempting to grab for me...

The stwuggle is weal.

u/wickedevil · 1 pointr/HeadphoneAdvice

I love my 6XX but it's collecting dust since I got the Monoprice m1060. I even got 1/3 off from the Monoprice online store so keep an eye out for deals.

Imaging is great so will support gaming.

You can drive it from the motherboard. Dedicated headphone dac+amp will give you 10% better performance, i.e., you'll notice a difference if you intentionally listen for differences but you'll forget about it once you're actually enjoying the music or game. Motherboard audio is pretty great nowadays.

u/oddsnsodds · 1 pointr/audiophile

Is this the same headphone? I'm not sure, since you're asking about the v2.

https://smile.amazon.com/Monoprice-116050-Monolith-Magnetic-Headphones/dp/B01N32N5DD

Looks like the 1060 is 50 ohm and 96 dB efficiency, and the 1060c is 18 ohms. You can drive them with any headphone amp, including the one in your desktop.

There are a lot of DACs and amps; I have a FiiO D03 DAC and Schiit Magni driving Sennheiser HD6XX (300 ohm) and the Magni drives them well. You might want to look at r/headphones or ask at r/headphoneadvice for more responses.

I'll go from cheapest to most expensive here:

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7GM - $199

AKG K702 - $232 (I have the older version of these, the K701s, and they've been going strong for ~8 years. Can't recommend them enough.)

HIFIMAN HE-400I - $249

Sony MDR1A - $298

Monoprice Monolith M1060 - $299

Sennheiser HD 650 - $315.99

AKG K712 - $379

Most of these headphones will really shine with a little headphone amp to give them a bit more power than your computer or phone's audio output can deliver. Something like a FiiO E10k works amazing. Or the FiiO A3 for a portable solution. Or if you want something that looks a bit sexier and is more of a stay on your desk kind of thing, you can go for something like this or this. Either way, any of these headphones will blow your Bose cans away no question - like not even in the same league of sound quality.

First off for a comparison between your G933, it's a massive difference. I've heard a fair amount of headphones as well as the G933. The G933 is in no way bad for what it is, it actually surprised me with the audio quality. With that said, though, I still wouldn't take it over a similarly priced pair of headphones. When you get down to the technical aspects of headphones like imaging, soundstage, clarity, detail, general tonal balance and sound presentation then any gaming headset just can't compare. $400 is easily enough for incredible sound as well. A lot of people stick with headphones in that price range over TOTL (top of the line) headphones in the $1k range, it's definitely enough especially coming from the two pairs you listed. That doesn't mean there's not room for improvement, though.

As for recommendations, these are my go to recommendations for headphones in your price range. It can be kind of hard to tell what exactly you want in a headphone since 3 different $400 headphones can sound vastly different from one another but the ones listed below are pretty highly regarded for the most part. I gave some extra detail about each headphone that will hopefully help you narrow it down. Another thing worth thinking about is an amp/dac. It won't be necessary for any of the listed headphones but that doesn't mean it won't help. Usually the difference is insignificant or inaudible in this price range but there are exceptions.

Sorry for the wall of text, there's just a lot to consider here if you want an accurate recommendation. My personal recommendation based on the playlist you posted would be the M1060. They're planar magnetics so the bass goes reaaal damn low and they also have a decent boost to the bass and mid range as well so you'd get that nice rumble and forward vocals with the mids.

If you have any more questions feel free to hit me up.

The Sennheiser HD 600 -~$300- is basically the crown jewel of /r/headphones. I personally haven't heard it but it's considered one of the best headphones of all times for the past ~20 years. It's mostly neutral so it may not be as exciting but has excellent detail retrieval. The only potential negative other than that I can think of is the soundstage, how wide the sound is. Some headphones sound like music comes from outside the headphone, some sound like earbuds where the sound is right against your head. These have a pretty narrow soundstage so they're more towards the latter.

The Sennheiser HD 6XX(Massdrop exclusive, needs account, long ship times) -$199- These are similar to the HD 600 but are less neutral. They have a little bit more bass but they have recessed highs which gives them a dark signature so things like cymbals, some guitar tones, orchestral instruments etc will sound less detailed and forward. Still a very solid headphones, especially for the price. They're normally ~$350.

Monoprice M1060 -~$300- is a bit of a polarizing headphone, people either love or hate it. Some people claim it sounds as good as a $1k pair of headphones, others find it underwhelming and/or hear a high pitch ringing. I've used them and demo'd them to ~5 people, none of which heard the ringing. I love them but don't agree with the "= to $1k headphones" sentiment. Some like them more than my $600 headphones though, so, yeah. These headphones have a lot of bass, boosted mids so vocals are very present and the highs are mostly neutral. The soundstage on these is pretty damn wide.

The Beyerdynamic DT 990 -~$220- is a very highly regarded headphone here. The only downside really is the high frequencies are boosted significantly and a decent amount of people find them unlistenable. If you have sensitive ears then skip these. They're quite V shaped (meaning bass and treble/highs are boosted). They have a decent sound stage, nothing too extreme either way.

AKG K7XX(Massdrop exclusive) -$199- These are great. I own them and are probably some of the best ~$200 headphones you can buy. They can also be pretty love/hate, though, but most people who don't like them seem to have a lot of experience with a wide variety of headphones. Out of all my headphones most people I demo mine to prefer the K7XX, even over my $600 pair. They're mostly neutral with slightly boosted mids and slightly lowered highs and a massive soundstage.
