Reddit mentions of No Dog Poop Poop Yard Lawn Sign

I'd first like to say I do not care if a dog shits on my lawn AS long as you pick up after it. The grass is just sitting there, use it as you please, just clean up after yourselves. So because I have this mentality, I walk around the neighborhood with my dog, and let her shit on their lawns (I ALWAYS PICK IT UP). I've even had the house owner watch my dog shit on their lawn and not say anything, I presume because I pull out a poop bag. So I've never been yelled at, also, people that don't want shit on their lawn put out that little 'no pooping' yard sign something like this guy

So this morning I'm walking around the neighborhood, and my dog poops on this person's lawn (again right near where the grass meets the pavement) and there's no 'no pooping sign'. And I of course pick it up, and about to walk on our merry way, when this lady comes out of her car from next door (so not even the house owner) and walks over very quickly to me and yells "DID YOU JUST LET YOUR DOG POOP ON THEIR LAWN?!" and I say "yes." And then she goes on this spiel about how that person has babies and they play in that lawn, and do I really want to allow babies to play in the grass and then eat poo that could get them sick and that there are people around the neighborhood that are allergic to dogs and all that other good stuff, and that I should be taking my dog to the park that's close by (it's not close by, and it's not a park, its an elementary school field that is also part of a church). After she ends her spiel her face is red and I really don't want to argue (though I have a rebuttal to every point she brings up - but I bite my tongue) so I say "okay" and walk away, and even as I walk away, she yells back to me "DON'T LET YOUR DOG POOP ON PEOPLE'S LAWNS, TAKE IT TO THE PARK, IT'S NOT THAT HARD!" like I'm the asshole.

I mean am I the asshole? (most of the time, but I don't feel like I am this time). I'm still going to be walking my dog around the neighborhood though.
