I went to crutchfield and did 4 , 3 way rock ford fosgates and then a 8 inch sub under the passenger seat cost about 500 with sub install. I did the speakers they are easy jsut YouTube it. Install on sub was 200 with all the wiring and taking apart my car to run it and mount the sub. I also got a power under seat sub to make it easy so you don’t have to deal with any other Amps. Now it bumps really Loud, clear, crisp, and so much more bass and it’s so clean. I also did some door insulation for like 30 bucks since the stock is super cheap and horrible .(didn’t bother replacing tweeters with 3 way setup)

These are the speakers and come with all the mouthing hardware and no need for amp they take no power to run and Car runs fine stock. This Alone is a great cheap place to start then add a sub

This sub is super dope sounds amazing. This is the one thing I payed for to install. They will try to get you to buy some pass through amp just. Say no it’s not Needed they try to sell that the volume will be limited without it but it’s plenty loud enough you can have a party outside.

Here is the door insulation

Good luck! Hope all this made sense! I also put the sub under the passenger seat and I love it you can feel the music a little more and not boomy sounding and doesn’t cost anymore depending on where you put it as well.

Peel n' Seal does not work well for long periods of time unless on a flat surface. If it is on the wall/roof of the car hot days will cause it lose its adhesiveness and detach.

If you want a good dynamat substitute try this. I used it on my Fiero and it worked wonders, the 19sq feet covered about half the car(should be similar for yours).

It is important to keep in mind that sound deadening like this isn't just about thickness, it is mostly about weight. Your car already has under-carpet foam that is thick and will take care of absorbing sound. Dynamat tries to weigh down panels and reduce the vibration that creates sound. The stuff I linked is nice and heavy, and as long as you get a roller, it is easy to install. Here is a picture of what it looks like installed, it took about a 6 hours to cut, fit, and install it in my car, and significantly dampened noise/vibration. It also cut down on heat transfer through the firewall, but I doubt that is as much of an issue for you.

Pretty much anything is cheaper and/or better than dynamat. I installed this two years ago and it's working great. No melting or de-coupling from the aluminum sheet. The 18 sqft was enough to do all four doors, the rear parcel shelf, license plate, and a little left over for the spare tire well.

Going through the same issue with my 09 9-5. GM's plastics do nothing help. There's really not going to be a guide or how to to fix it. You'll have to spend the time and figure out whats vibrating / rattling and figure out the best solution for that specific area.

There are various products that you can use to reduce vibrations. Weather stripping that you would use on a door or window is a huge help. You can also use a CLD sheets or tiles such as this: https://www.amazon.com/Noico-deadening-Automotive-Insulation-dampening/dp/B012B5EMGO/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=noico&qid=1557610323&s=gateway&sr=8-3

It's a butyl rubber product (doesnt smell) with adhesive. You can use it bare metal surfaces and even on the back of your door card to reduce vibrations.

Skip the rear, put Hertz dsk 6.5 components up front.

A wire kit and amplifier , bridged into 2 channel

Fast rings

sound deadener like so

If you're feeling adventurous, pull the seats and put closed cell foam mat under the entire floor. Lots of road noise complaints about the CRV.

I'd skip the rear entirely, and I would never put coaxials in the front and then add tweeters.

Poor man's dynamat

Those 92db look awesome! I could put two of those subs in the back, which would fill the car quite nicely. Obviously if I ever did have passengers, they'd get a sub-par experience; but hey, they probably couldn't appreciate it anyway :D And it remains under $1,000 more or less. And I could always add a different pair of normal speakers in the back, and use the passthrough on the amp to hook a subwoofer up. But I also found some fairly inexpensive sound dampening material I could include.

u/Dirty-M518 · 1 pointr/subaru

I think i used this for the deadening. And something like this as the foam. Wasn't exactly that but you can shop around.

The first is to deaden sound. Stop the drone and metal vibrating. Foam is to cut sound and make it quieter. See how you like the sound with nothing first and then add.

I put mine on right away because the gf didnt like the cabin drone.

u/jeffro422 · 1 pointr/GolfGTI

Consider this as well. Cheaper than Dynamat but works really well. Could probably use the smaller pack for the headliner.

I like ckeeler11 idea with the Maximos. Keep the amp you currently have, but start saving for a mono amp for the sub, then bridge the alpine to the morels. Also add some sound deadening in the door and around the midbass. That would be all you need for your doors. You can get the next size up if you want to add some on the trunk.
You’ll be 100% happy after all of that.
