Alpine used to have a nice and cheap single DIN receiver, but it looks like they are all $200+ now.

I like this Pioneer which meets your requirements and is affordable. I would also suggest getting the PAC VW adapter for the best compatibility and to keep stock functionality like auto dimming lights and door chimes. You may also need an antenna adapter and single DIN cubby kit (but the one you already have will likely work fine).

I am installing a pioneer double din in my 2003 jetta with monsoon audio (steering wheel controls) on wednesday and I am going to use this which will allow me to use the monsoon amp with the pioneer deck and keep steering wheel controls.

Edit: I used to have the non-bluetooth version of the stereo you linked to and I would recommend it.
