This was my big organizing challenge for 2019 and I finally settled on a few solutions.
I have this for my gold jewelry. Long dangly necklaces on the top rack, middle rack has my 18 inch chains and pearl strands, short rack has some chokers on the one side, bracelets on the other. I know it's probably not great for them long-term but it's what works now and that's better than letting everything get tangled. I have a shorter one with just 1 tier for statement necklaces and silver chains. FYI It's super tall but super helpful and it sits on my vanity/dresser next to my mirror.
Next I have my boxes. Box 1 (7 Rings) is where I store my stud earrings and my super giant long dangly ones, my hoops, and my rings. Box 2 (earrings) is where I keep the rest of my earrings. Most of mine are slight drop ones or a touch longer and these work great for that. Box 3 (24 Grids) is where I store some extra pendants, some brooches, and some bracelets that don't hang right on my necklace stand. You can remove a row or column if you need to in order to fit things right so that's what I did. These live on a bookshelf in my bedroom.
And because I'm not great at putting everything away every day, I have a small anthropologie bowl that sits inside of this on my vanity/dresser. Pieces go in there until I correctly put them away.
