Haven't used it yet but seen people have it in there builds looks A1
This. Honestly a nice tucked away Phanteks 1.5ft strip gives off the most tasteful, addressable, ambient RGB. They sell them in a two pack and come with a Y-splitter if you wanna use both. It's cheap and not over-stated when it's not shining directly outward, but hidden inside the case. Also Asus Aura allows me to program color saturation and LED brightness.
Here it is: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_Combo-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=phanteks+rgb+strip&qid=1550761420&s=gateway&sr=8-2
Phanteks LED strip
I use it with an Asus Z370-A Prime which has a 4 pin RGB header on it and it works great.
Yes and no, you can't plug it directly into the Mobo RGB header, you need the adapter.
I don't think my case came with one. (I have the p400s TG)
If you really want to spaz out on RGB This comes with 2 LED strips and an adapter, and it's only $12 more
edit: Oh, and FYI, ASUS Aura handles those RGB strips beautifully!
Hey fam.
Rough Draft Build
2600X is fine. It’s a $15 difference. Better CPU cooler and all the Youtube pros say it’s worth to get if not overclocking. I think you should go for the 3600 though with the savings from below.
If you’re doing 1080p 60hz, I would actually just stick to the 580. Here’s a comparison. For a $40 difference the extra frames with the 590 are minimal.
You’ll want this RAM. You want 2X8. 16g is all you will need.
That PSU is in the Don’t Buy range at the hierarchy we all use. I got you one that is Tier A.
I actually got the P300 until I decided to go to a smaller form factor. It’s a fine case, don’t let anyone tell you anything else. For some reason every craps on it here, but I did my research when I bought it. It’s one of the smallest ATX cases, which is good because there’s usually way too much wasted space in ATX cases. There’s an LED strip for $17 that works with the accent lighting the P300 has that’s a nice touch. Link further down.
Don’t forget about case fans. Arctic F12 PWM fans are popular. This is a value pack. If you want LEDs or RGBs, can find really awesome ones that are less than $10 per fan. I just changed it to my Deepcools. There is actually a 5pack on US Amazon for $40 USD, so you might be able to find that there. This is what they look like. They’re amazing for the price. Your MOBO definitely has RGB hookups. If not, can go to the 5 pack of Arctic 12 PWM fans.
It’s up to you, but probably worth to change the storage to a M.2. Will be faster for $8 additional. No extra wires and goes right on the motherboard.
Tomahawk Max works with the Ryzen 3600, so ignore the incompatibility. Tomahawk is a super popular MOBO.
This is the Phanteks LED magnetic strip that I think links up with the case (USA Amazon)
Hope that helps. Let me know of any questions.
It's these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Okay so you have a few options. You could pick up some of the Corsair LL120 fans and use those. However you’d need the controller that comes with some of their multi packs. I think the 3 pack with controller is quite expensive. So that may not be an option immediately. But those fans are amazing. If you went this route, you’d put one on the rear, and the other 2 on the top. But this would cause a pretty heavy pressure imbalance, so you’d want to get 2 more normal fans and put them up front.
Alternatively, Phanteks makes a product called the ‘Halos’ which are RGB fan frames which can be placed on virtually any fan. They’re fairly cost effective, considering they can be swapped to a different fan, and they work with MSI mystic light, which is the RGB controller for the motherboard.
The case has a closed front panel, so you don’t need rgb fans for the front. I’d say just the rear and/or top would be the only ones you’d want rgb. The case comes with 2 120mm fans, one in the front and one in the rear. The cpu cooler comes with 1 120mm fan. So, if you fit the rad in the rear, you could put the fan that’s included and add that to the front. Then put the fan frame on the rear fan.
Phanteks also makes an awesome little rgb strip kit It’s available on amazon. It works with the fan frames, and is magnetic making install and placement real easy.
Idk, honestly just shop around figure out how much you want to spend. The case could definitely use some better cooling, especially up front. So if you can move all the stock fans you’ll have to front, and then for the rear rad fan (and top if you get them) you’d use the rgb fans, that would be a great move. Just remember most rgb fans are proprietary, and only work with their brands software, or a specific software.

Here ya go
Its possible your power outage caused a surge that either burned out your LEDs or LED controller on the motherboard.
Even though your PC was off, do you run it on a UPS?
Apologies that I don't have a lot of troubleshooting steps here, but you probably want to contact ASUS Tech Support:
https://www.asus.com/us/support/callus
The only other idea I can think of is purchase an LED strip with the 4-pin connector, attach it to the 4-pin RGB header on your motherboard, and see if you can set any RGB through the BIOS or the Aura Sync software. Here is an example: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_Combo-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/
This is compatible with your board:
https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_Combo-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=phanteks+led+strips&qid=1558112141&s=gateway&sr=8-2
The [Phanteks strips] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sxts_kp_bs_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=8778bc68-27e7-403f-8460-de48b6e788fb&pd_rd_wg=VQiHc&pf_rd_r=CGJJQE3HH7ZXQCY74J38&pf_rd_s=desktop-sx-top-slot&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_i=B01HUFMIZ2&pd_rd_w=KWU1C&pf_rd_i=phanteks+rgb+strip&pd_rd_r=3e54e41a-2b16-4066-893a-5be9d990f7f0&ie=UTF8&qid=1541826157&sr=1) I have work well. Nothing fancy but they look decent. Got em plugged into msi x370 gaming pro carbon board.
I'm using Phanteks PH-LEDKT_Combo: RGB LED Strip Combo Set - Retail Cases $15 Amazon in my Meshify C TG Dark -- one strip hides up top between fans and glass, the other one runs down the rear wall, near the glass.
The magnets do a great job holding the strips in place -- no issue there.
Strip is daisy-chained together and plugged into lead on motherboard. Controlling color of light via mobo software suite, Asus Aura.
Thanks!
Forgot them in the list. Here you go:

LED Strip
I bought these. They are really bright and look good:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
i used these
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and plugged them in to a different rgb header
The LED strip is marketed only for the Phanteks Luxe case, a bulky full tower case. The LED strip recommended by Phanteks to use with the P400S is the combo pack here
https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT-COMBO-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482859136&sr=1-1-fkmr1&keywords=phanteks+P400S+led
If your goal is maxing out FPS at max settings, a 1070 would probably serve you well
Finally, if you want to overclock, I'd say go with the Corsair H60 liquid cooler for about 30 bucks more than the 212 EVO. It'll have way better performance.

This is the one I have, https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_COMBO-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2
Works great. Not sure if 5V strips will work, but I wouldn't want to test that and have something die on me lol
not a problem! i'll link you the two pieces on Amazon and can show you "how they work/look" in your case as well since I have the same thing :)
(actually, if we're just looking at "brand new" and not on sale prices, you're looking at about $30 total)
standard and not aluminium, hate to say it but I ended up trying both and the alm. looks nice but makes no real major difference worth two of these (and if you really want to go to that level, you'd probably just buy an RGB fan for like $10 more!) (EDIT: Since we're talking an NZXT case I believe their pre-installed fans are 120" so this should be right - if they are 140, it's about the same price but a different listing)

as for the strips:

No actually all the LED strips I got were Phanteks LED strips. The 2m strip for the back of the desk and the combo pack for the inside https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_Combo-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537112030&sr=8-1&keywords=phanteks+led&dpID=4114GKm2qdL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
I've used phanteks ones and been happy with them https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_Combo-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2
Couple of questions. I need to buy some thermal paste for my CPU, and I have these 2 options, is there any difference between them that I should be aware of? Option 1 and Option 2. By the way, this is my first time applying some paste, even though I already know (it's been practically drilled into my brain by this ub and the pcmasterrace one) that I should use a very small amount of it, do I need to give the paste time to cool off or something like that? Or could I just attach the heatsink and start using it normally?
Also, I was gonna buy some led strips for my case and I really wanted to avoid getting a soldering iron. I had my eye on these, and I don't see anything in regards to whether they will need soldering in order to install them or not.
Never used rgb before but I’d like to add a little touch to my case.
Just double checking that these two will be compatible:

Computer case LEDs:
Phanteks PH-LEDKT_COMBO: RGB LED Strip Combo Set - Retail Cases https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_tSeqzbF4H80MJ
my motherboard manual says i can plug in 5050 RGB Strips 12V up to 2 continuous meters with max power rating of 3A/12V
i'd like white strips since my case is white and if they have magnetics that be nice but i can live with magnets
Are the Phanteks a good choice of product?
What other LED strips would work in these JRGB headers on the mobo?
Phanteks actually have their own kit! https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_COMBO-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2 maybe you could use something like this?
You think these would work just as well?
https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT-COMBO-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1499366124&sr=8-6&keywords=cablemod+widebeam+magnetic+rgb+led+strip
I put these in my case They work just fine.

Some of Phanteks LED strips for the case. It has a built in controller for these strips, so installation will be easy.
yes, those look good.
or if you want one from a known brand:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GRHSS1V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
or
phanteks:

don't buy nzxt or corsair, they are overpriced due to the eco-system they built over the years (cam and icue)
Beautiful! Lights I guess are just preference. I bought LED lights for my case, I don't use it much anymore but it's nice to keep it illuminated. I purchased this one. I actually have the same motherboard as you as well, you just plug it into the RGB header and it syncs up with the MSI Mystic software
I'm looking to buy Aura Sync compatible RGB strips for my Fractal Design Define S case.
How many strips would I need to provide a full illumination while looking through the window side panel? Are 2 strips enough? If so, which locations would be better to install it in (e.g. top and bottom)? Any recommendations on brands? I've heard Phanteks is good.
I'm planning on connecting this to my Asus Strix B350 motherboard which I believe has 2 RGB headers so I'm guessing that should be able to accommodate 2 strips fine.
Thanks in advance.
If you are at uni, you could probably get someone to teach you. With soldiering, you could make custom wires and lengths, allowing you to place the LED strips in any configuration.
Without that, your options are things like this: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_Combo-Strip-Combo-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=deepcool+rgb+strip&qid=1564782947&s=electronics&sr=1-4
https://www.amazon.ca/Phanteks-PH-LEDKT_COMBO-Strip-Combo-Set-Retail/dp/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1524281958&sr=8-3&keywords=phanteks%2Bled%2Bstrip&th=1
These are them right? It appears they come with an adapter to make them compatible with motherboards, I assume its the same with yours. If so you found me the perfect led strip. Any idea how long it is?
