The Plantronics GameCom 788 is amazing for the price.

What I have right now are gamecom 780-s that I got for around £40. If you can, save up for the gamecom 788(currently on sale on amazon) and get those. They have great noise cancellation and have decent sound from the mic.

I have been using gamecom 780-s for a year and have two friends who have them aswell. Both are quite happy with them. I find I have to turn down the sound on my mic quite a lot in PP when editing.

Also here's the link to the 788-s.

I have this cooler, slightly annoying to set up but a good cooler for the price.

WIFI adapter is just a generic one from amazon it's fine for the price really

Keyboard there are some options but for £20 you might not get a great one I would recommend saving and getting a decent mechanical keyboard, it really is worth it. This corsair is a good shout at £65 but it is tenkeyless if that bothers you.

Edit: added wifi card and keyboard bit

This plantronics headset is the newer version of the old 780 which I have, very comfortable, good mic, virtual surround sound is not as good as actual surround, but better than stereo

I have Plantronics Gamecom 780, they have lasted me 3 years now, the mic quality is clear as day. They're comfy as fuck and sound great.

These are sold as a gaming headset and with this "7.1 surround".

There is a significant difference between having the surround sound turned off and turned on. It can sound weird at first like the sound is everywhere but a couple of seconds later and turning it back off sound horrible.

Whether it is truly surround or not doesn't matter, the difference of having that setting turned on is amazing, all sound quality gets better and I definitely prefer them to using speakers for something such as overwatch because I am immersed by the sound and i can track footsteps because I can hear where they're coming from.

For anyone wanting a cheap gaming headset, at least in the UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plantronics-GameCom-788-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00LNJZTTY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481560482&sr=8-1&keywords=plantronics+788

I believe theres a problem with Windows 10, you have to open the file and install with a different setup, if anyone needs help with this. Ping me a message. for google: Platronics 788 wont install windows 10.

You can take advantage of some black Friday goodness and go brand new Plantronics GameCom 788 USB PC/Gaming Headset https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LNJZTTY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_FY3myb3QE3303

Hmm. It just boggles my mind that I see my friend with a similar room and people on YT just stand it up and speak into it and it sounds so much better (also on USB, and unfortunately standard Yeti doesn't have XLR input)

And Mudder

Or apparently just rebuy these and don't be depressed about a mic for a year and a half

Not really no. I have these headsets.
I dont use any of that razer software stuff so.. that might be your issue?

u/SethWolfbaine · 1 pointr/playark

I'm not an audiophile, so I don't quite know the specs. But I do know the headset is a Plantronics GameCom 788 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plantronics-GameCom-788-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00LNJZTTY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485192073&sr=8-1&keywords=Plantronics+GameCom+788) and my speakers are Logitech Z333.
All drivers are up to date.

The Logitech G430 may be a good option for a budget. Other than that and the HyperX Cloud 2, Plantronics GameCom 788 is a solid choice too. I know streamers that use both of those headsets. The only issue is that the G430's mic may not be what you're looking for, but the headset and a $50 Blue Yeti Snowball come in at just about $110 before shipping.
