Yep! I use these. My favorite combo is the Superclamp you use here plus a Giottos MH1304 mini ball head.

Another thing you can do (which works better for some scenarios) is grab some of these clamps (note: you can get these for about a dollar each at Home Depot) and a 1/4"-20 x 1/2" screw + one 1/4"-20 nut. Put the nut on the screw, pass the screw through the hole in the clamp, and screw on the ball head for just the right amount of screw clearance. Then clamp it to any shelf or desk surface super-fast. Superclamps are more robust, but considerably more expensive and occasionally don't fit where these clamps do.

One other option is to use drop ceiling clamps, again, with the same kind of mini ball head. Do not buy them for $20. These can be found for $3-5 (and used to be that much on Amazon) but right now someone is selling them for a lot more. Note: drop ceiling clamps are susceptible to bouncing if the drop ceiling has a floor above and it isn't stable, which can potentially cause tracking issues. YMMV. I've never had an issue with it but it's been mentioned before that it could be an issue. If not, they're extremely low-profile, clean, and simple to install. I used to use them in my office and they worked fine.
