You can also buy Qualcomm Quick chargers, they work just fine with Samsung Fast charge.

I use them in my car and at home on my PC desk and near my bed.

Here is an excellent one: https://www.amazon.com/Aukey-Charger-Quick-Charge-Smartphones/dp/B01BBZJ31Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1483573949&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=quick+charge&psc=1

Make sure you're using a proper cable :)

I've been very happy with my Aukey Dual Port QC3 charger. There's no sense to get a single port charger now a days.

u/King_Jeebus · 3 pointsr/PacificCrestTrail

I used my phone for Guthook/camera (and podcasts) so it was pretty much a necessity to be charged before I could leave town... so I made sure my wall-charger, powerbank, and phone were all quick-charge and it made a massive difference for me: I would hit town and put phone/powerbank on charge first thing, do my re-ration etc, then be able to hit the trail again within a few hours with full charge ... whereas I knew other folk who had to stay overnight when they didn't want to.

I got:

  • AUKEY USB Wall Charger with Quick Charge 3.0 & Dual Ports (surprisingly large, but worked great.)
  • Anker PowerCore II 10000 (great, quick charge both in and out. Only 1 port, but I 95% of the time just charged the phone.)
  • Nitecore NU25 (awesome torch. not quickcharge, but never really needed it)
  • 2 USB cables (came with the above stuff, I switched one out for a shorter one eventually)
  • Motorola G4+ (good for Guthook, meh camera but did the job well enough and it was kinda disposable as it only cost $100 unlocked)
  • iPod nano (I just like music so much while I walk I wanted a backup in case phone started getting low, and this thing is tiny. I actually used it a ton!)

I think 2 ports is enough really, I would just charge the headtorch/ipod when I got the chance or a longer town stay. Ontrail I would kinda start running low if I used the phone a lot for 4 days, and have to be a bit conservy... there's likely better stuff now, but just fyi!

Whats the story with the charging brick you are using? Original or 3rd party?

You need a QC 3.0 charger something like this:

And try these cables:

I was looking into this today. Both aukey and anker seem to be making fairly compact dual port quick charge adapters.

Also found a 10,000mAh battery from ravpower that has quick charge input. Anyone using these adapters or battery?

To help you get some better recommendations: Do you want/need quick charge 3.0? Do you want usb-c? Stuff like this can help people chime in with good recommendations.

I personally grabbed a Aukey of Amazon for $11 lightning deal.

Dual port

Quick charge 3.0

weight is 109 grams which is heavier than I really wanted but I assume it is because it is USB 3.0 and Quick charge.

Hey there friendo;

Just to explain how the turbo charge works.
The devices use a special Qualcomm chip that manages the power.

You can plug it in to any 'normal' USB charger (including a computer USB port) and it will charge at a standard rate.

The only way you get the 'turbo charge' is if you use a charger (car or wall) that has that special Qualcomm chip inside of it.

That chip will then charge the device at 12 volts 1Amp (or in that neighborhood). They don't actually draw that much more current than normal devices.

If you're looking for a third-party charger, I've had super great luck with the Aukey brand chargers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BBZJ31Y/

This one?

That's actually the charger I use for my non-hiking phone. Well that was easy.

Many seated games don't use the Vive controllers at all. Elite Dangerous is one, which I've done some fairly significant amount of playtime in in single sittings. I tried what /u/Jordo76 is asking about and had bad results though. I used this wall adapter and various USB cables, but repeatedly at seemingly random intervals I would have the vive wireless software kick up an error saying headset not detected. But it was, it still worked in game, but sound would stop working because I assume it was reporting to windows no headset plugged in. I would have to close the wireless software and re-run it to get things working again.

I'm guessing power fluctuations somewhere were the cause, but I plugged into a battery port of a UPS for some help there, and it was still happening. I dunno, maybe the adapter I was using was the culprit, I just use batteries and swap as needed now.

I own this aukey wall charger it charges my switch pretty good

I can vouch for the Spigen, my phone flew out of my hoodie when I was dancing in the middle of the road, and hit the ground 5 ft away, barely any indication that the case was impacted as it bounced on the asphalt. Thats a good case. No cellphone damage whatsoever and you cant tell the case was dropped.

For Charger - I got this to compliment the one that comes from ZTE :

I wouldn't recommend taking this on the PCT. The vertical orientation means it's going to block at least 2 and possibly 3 ports on a power strip (and both terminals on a normal wall outlet).

Sounds like you've done extensive research on this, but, on a popular trail like the PCT, power outlets can be hard to come by in town. Is there anything with horizontal orientation that isn't as heavy as this Aukey at 7.2oz?

I second this one. I have used it every night for the past month and a half and it works perfectly. I wish it were a little faster, but being a qi charger you can't expect it to be fast as wired charging. I use it with this so I can have the option to plug it in or plug my wife's phone in.

For batteries, I recommend getting a setup that uses Quickcharge or similar high wattage charging and staying away from massive packs. If you carry 2 packs that are 10k mAh, you can charge twice as fast as one 20k mAh. And charging 2 packs at a combined 36 W is obviously faster than charging one at 5 W (on standard USB).

I recently got some 10k mAh Aukey packs which support Quickcharge on both the input and output. My packs charge quickly and they charge my phone quickly. Obviously you'll want a Quickcharge capable wall adapter with an appropriate number of ports for your needs.

Probably. I bought this charger to use at home for $25 (a bit more than $15, but has good reviews) to charge both my phone and tablet. I took the charger that came with the phone to work. https://www.amazon.com/Aukey-Charger-Quick-Charge-Smartphones/dp/B01BBZJ31Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480131580&sr=8-1&keywords=qualcomm+quickcharge+3.0+charger

u/TemptedTemplar · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Yes. This one would work wonderfully. There is also a version with two usb ports if you prefer.

u/Dad-Sweater · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Is it safe to charge the switch using this phone charger with a USB c cable?

u/SonicFan26 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I just got these for future use with the Switch, the wall charger should be beefy enough, has total 39 Watts.

Aukey USB Wall Charger

USB C Cable

I also got this right angle cable if your into that.

USB C right angle extension

This is the microSD card I'm getting.

SanDisk 128 GB microSD

Also I like the Switch backpack.
