Sure, people split drip lines all the time. Get a big rubbermaid type tote. Run a 1/2 inch line with one end attached to the pump and the other end clamped off. Keep in mind that the pump will have a harder time pumping water the lower the level falls. Also, don't have the water level in your reservoir higher than your emitters or the water could be siphoned out even if the pump isn't running. You're on a bit of a time crunch to get this together and tested before Christmas, but I wish you good luck. They'll have everything you need, plus more complete advice at a local hydro shop.
