So as far as matted fur, if the matting is really sever you might have to save it. An electric shaver would be best.

OP in this thread just shaved their bun https://www.reddit.com/r/Rabbits/comments/bx3m65/my_little_lady_diane_before_and_after_her_summer/ - perhaps you might OM the OP for some tips.

Also try looking for rabbit rescues in your area and getting in touch with them for help - they often have experience in taking care of very neglected bunnies and might assist you in doing this safely.

You have to brush her consistently to prevent matting - a few times a week at the very least. You can use this brush - https://www.amazon.com/Safari-Slicker-Brush-Stainless-Steel/dp/B0041LAQYE (use a small) to try to gently work out any knots. As young as you do it consistently the knots won't be well formed enough to be hard to brush out. This is a very gently brush.

In addition I would get the hair-buster brush and actually brush with it after working out the knots with the smaller brush to ensure you are removing shedding hairs that can otherwise cause tummy blockage. This brush is worth every penny.. it is the best for capturing those fine silky bun hairs.

____________

As far as dirty feet, that will with time resolve itself. As long as there are no sores the stains will subside as she sheds old fur assuming you keep the litter box clean.

If you want wipes, they sell pet safe ones online and in store, but they may not help much. And bathing is not a good idea.

___________

As far as spaying. $ years old is 100% young enough to get spayed! It's really important to do since otherwise the risk of uterine cancer is so much high than any risks of surgery.

Find a good rabbit savvy vet and do the pre-op blood work and 100% get her spayed, it's the best investment you can make into her happy and healthy future.

Having said this, picking a GOOD rabbit savvy vet is really key here. I would do this and have a consult.

One of the best ways to find a great vet is through you local rabbit rescues. Try to google your local rabbit rescues, see what the closest House Rabbit Society chapter is. Dedicated rabbit rescues do a lot of spays and neuters (they never leave the buns unfixed) so they can always recommend a good and well priced vet. Often you can find this info right on their websites (look in different sections there) but if not an email with a question will get you a response.

Also here you can also find a list of rabbit savvy vets by state to cross reference the info:

http://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Category:United_States (also lists rescues and low cost clinics to look into to)

In particular for a spay this page also has great questions to ask the vet/clinic as you research - http://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Spaying_and_neutering_rabbits
