I'm glad I got mine a couple of months ago for only $650.
well I mean you can probably just use one of those forwarding services if you really want one, it would probably still be cheaper than getting it from amazon jp, its just annoying to register and set up.
Also, if you check amazon.com there may be a seller who ships internationally, but looking at the prices they are all 600+ dollars so it probably wouldn't be a massive savings compared to ordering from amazon jp.

It seems spearnet only charged 40$ (after he used a 40$ discount code) for the forwarding. So I guess without the code it would be like 80$ or so + the samsung store's 500$ for the headset, I guess final price should still be under 600$ if you use this method. Honestly, this sounds like your best bet. Its too bad samsung ended their 400$ sale.
You don’t need to grab the very best headset. Early this year they announced that it would work with all VR headsets support on steam, that includes the very good US$320 Samsung Odyssey US$320 Samsung Odyssey, or other Windows Mixed Reality headsets for even cheaper that still provide an incredible VR experience.
If you like a GPU analogy, WMR headsets are like the GTX 1660 to the Valve Indexs RTX 2080ti.

What are you on about? No, you won't be able to max out settings, just like you won't be playing in 4k or 240fps. But you'll be able to run the overwhelming majority of VR games at mixed/medium settings without any significant frame drops or issues on a $500-600 PC.
For building a PC, this partlist comes out to $520 - and that's all brand-new parts without significant bargain hunting; if you were seriously building a new PC, you could spend some more time looking for deals on the used market and likely get things even cheaper, or if you spent a little bit more you could get some improvements to turn up more settings ingame.
Then for a headset, you could get HP's WMR headset for $200 as an official refurb, or spend a little more and get a nicer headset like the [Samsung Odyssey] (https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Odyssey-Wireless-Controllers-XE800ZAA-HC1US/dp/B078K2S122) for about $300.
Again, that's just brand-new or officially refurbished - on the used market (from a quick 5-minute search) you can find used Rift CV1 bundles (with controllers and sensors) for anywhere from $200-300, or various WMR headsets for $150-250.
You can absolutely get a full VR rig for under $1000.
