This is probably the best 4k HDRtv for the price right now. Still kinda expensive.
I personally have this Sony and love it (so far)
I got you, bud!
Yep! That's one of the three I'm looking at.
The other two I found are the Samsung KU6300

It has a phenomenal pricetag, and is a great all around contender with low latency and fantastic image qaulity, but it's color gamut is poor enough to make it questionable whether it really counts as an HDR tv. I've seen some rumors that a hotfix is coming that will fix the color gamut, but I think that's a load of crap.
and the Sony X800D

Fantastic color gamut solid all around performance and a good but not great pricetag, BUT it only comes in 43 and 49 inch, and 49 is my minimum size.
It just feels weird to me to go out looking for a new TV and only find 3 real options with two of them coming from the same manufacturer.

I bought this last week and got it saturday. Works great
I use the Samsung UN50KU6300. I really like it. The Smart TV interface is super slick as well. Not clunky. Only downside, No Av Cable Ports so you'll have to buy an adapter to hook up retro consoles.

Is it this?
My TV for next black Friday when I get the scorpio

Thank you very much. This is exactly what I was hoping to learn about.
My current Samsung has the Clear Motion option (or maybe it's Auto Motion Plus), but I always turn it off. It makes everything look like a soap opera. Besides that the TV has been great. I just want something a little bigger.
Picture quality is important, but I can live without 4k. We watch all our shows and I play my one game through Xbox. I will be investing into the new Scorpion in the future, which I believe will be 4k capable. Like I said, that's not a huge deal to me and if I can get a great deal on a 50-55" that does not support 4k, I'm okay with that. Smart TV also isn't a selling factor. It all depends on the price difference between the capability of 4k.
The guy who posted the Target ad shows this TV that will be on sale: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN50KU6300-50-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01E69VEE6#productDetails . I searched for it on rting.com and the picture quality is rated as fair. It apparently suffers from constant judder. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by 24/50/60p video, but I tried to find it on the TV that I posted and I can't seem to find it. I'm going to assume maybe you mean frames and that current model does not achieve 20/50/60p video without suffering from constant judder.
I'm going to go do some more research. I don't want to come off as someone asking you to do the research for me, but you seem to know what you're talking about and I have to ask if you were in my shoes - looking for a TV in the 50-55" sized range that produces great quality judder free, 4k not hugely important (depends on price difference), and without smart options, what would you recommend?
I thought from reading the buying guide that if you are running a cable box the 4K TV might not look that great running 1080p HDMI? Is that incorrect?
This was the TV i was most considering. The couch is about 6-8 feet from the TV.
