I'm feeling a little bit...

toxic!

What mobo would you suggest? And why go for the 4670k? (serious question.)

I'll be picking up another Sapphire Toxic 280x next month when I pick up a new PSU, I would hope with that that I could get to 144fps, right?

edit: Changed the mobo and CPU around.

Where it works, it works well. But it hardly works, just look for actual game performance, not benchmarks. I've done it too many times on this subreddit. The headache sounds horrible in most games. So selling the card and buying an offhand better one leads to better overall performance, power efficiency and satisfaction. For not much more for a single better card than the crossfire, it's no contest the crossfire of the 270x is pointless.
Edit: I'm now at my computer and able to put things together. Please find a good (non reference) 270x for $80. People make these claims all the time and I never see them that low. The cheapest used 270x on amazon is $113. So if they sold the 270x they have for $115 on craigslist or amazon(I do this and it works all the time) that's $230 for 2x270x. And for a little more you can get a 290 Heres a 290 NEW for $269
Here is a used reference 290x for $280

so for around the same price to get the added benefits of freesync capable, extra crossfire umph in the future, trueaudio, and more vram(with 290 vs 290x). It's seriously a no brainer to go for a single better card. the 290 and 290x are fantastic cards that I have never heard one person say they weren't satisfied with them. The 280x has the added benefit of more vram and a faster single gpu for games that can't take advantage of 2 cards. Adding 2x 2gb cards together does not equal 4gb of vram with crossfire, it only means 2gb vram. and if you mix sizes of vram it downgrades to the lower amount. most games are going to need more than 2gb of vram in the future.
2x 270x = more performance where used, higher idle power usage, can cause headache for games that don't support crossfire.

1x 280x = more performance in non crossfire games, higher power usage for a single gpu, removes headache from games that don't support crossfire. still capable of crossfire for performance that will smash the 2x 270x crossfire

1x 290x or 290 = incredible single card performance, will rock the socks off any games that don't support crossfire, the newest features, still capable of crossfire with unrivaled performance.

If you can manage to get one of these while theyre on sale its better bang for your buck than what your friend is selling. Of course thats assuming compatability

Here is the exact link. I believe I bought it from Amazon itself?

It should come in the Amazon box, not the card's box, right?
