Here you go. I posted this last time this came up. Wish there was an /r/Tasker repository or wiki that had everyone's ideas. We can just link to the wiki Everytime.


I've got a bunch. Pretty sure these are all my root free ones. If one of these requires root I apologise:


  • Normal location based stuff with volume,wifi,bt,gps
  • If I put my phone on a magnet dock in my car (magnetic dock required) it will unlock my phone and ask me where I'm going and will automatically route me there using Waze. I don't trigger this from Bluetooth on purpose. The unlocking of the phone part requires root. Instructions Example of Magnetic Dock
  • Brightness on Max during the day time in my car. I wear sunglasses usually and can't see the phone with auto brightness on so have to make it brighter.
  • Remembers my parking coordinates Everytime I park my car and keeps my coordinates in my notification bar until I connect to a wifi. If I disconnect from the wifi it will bring back up where I parked. Clicking the notification will nav me to my car. Instructions
  • When I get a phone call from someone that is not in my phone it will give a notification asking me if I want to add the contact. If i click yes it will open contact entry with the number prepopulated. The notification will also give me the option to websearch the phone number. I like to do this for phone numbers I don't know before I answer in case I want to avoid someone. Instructions
  • Anytime someone calls me I'll get a notification on my tablet with the phone number.
  • I subscribe to YouTube TV...when I get a phone call it will pause my tv. I'm sure you can do this with other casted items.
  • When my phone finishes booting up and loading background apps it will play a startup sound. Instructions
  • when phone is not connected to power it slows my processor down. Requires custom kernel but not root. I have not noticed any complications with this but I also have a great phone (Pixel XL)
  • Hate when I'm laying down and my phone rotates when I don't want it to. So I have autorotate always turned off. It will turn on automatically for certain apps that I use in landscape mode.
  • Sync turns off late at night
  • Media volume turns off when certain games are opened in case I'm somewhere and I don't want the sounds on. Turns back on after game closes.
  • YouTube TV again - automatically casts cnbc channel in the morning to get my stock news.
  • MY FAVORITE AND MOST PROUD: you know those verification codes that get sent to your text messages? Well when I get them, the code is auotmatically copied to my clipboard and ready to be pasted. Soyou don't have to switch apps or copy the code manually. Works with about 95% of company codes I tested it with. Instructions
  • Changes my navigation bar depending on what I'm doing. See my nav bar in this screenshot: https://imgur.com/6kp1DL5 it will give me music next track if I'm playing audio. If I'm on a call, it will give me a speaker phone toggle, every other time it gives me voice search like in the screenshot. The left button always opens music player. If audio is playing it will pause. Does not require root but requires a lengthy set up process if you don't have root. Instructions
  • In Android Quicktiles I created two new quick tiles. One to toggle display timeout and gives me a toast to the new timeout. A second will give me a pop-up asking me to select the timeout I want.
  • When I plug in headphones, I'll get a bottom bar notification asking me if I want to open Google play or pocket casts.
  • During stock market hours, every 30 minutes I will get 1 notification of 5 of my stocks and their changes for the day. Instructions
  • My phone will go to vibrate on any meetings in my calendar that are marked as busy.
  • if I copy a Reddit url It will usually be because I want to see a deleted comment. So it will open the exact url with ceddit.
  • When I am on a call I get 4 floating action buttons (end call, toggle mute, toggle speaker, go to phone app) that is overlayed on the screen. See screenshot: https://imgur.com/aiv6aP6

This one works well for me. It covers up the corner of the screen but just where it says my phone's name. Doesn't actually touch the screen, though
