For the 8tb - Am I crazy or does it not say 7200 vs 5400 rpm anywhere on that entire page?

I recently shucked 3 of these and just ordered 3 more. The drives inside were Seagate Baracuda. Pretty sure these: https://www.amazon.ca/Seagate-Barracuda-St8000dm004-Internal-Drive/dp/B075WYBQXJ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1519911432&sr=8-3&keywords=seagate+barracuda+8tb.
It wasnt an archive.
Hey OP, I haven't seen these drive types yet, but I did shuck a bunch of $150 8TB external drives that ended up being the standard 8TB Barracuda drives. I've found that those have the standard mounting holes, so if you're willing to have a lower amount of storage space, it'll work just fine.
This one - https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Barracuda-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST8000DM004/dp/B075WYBQXJ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1524851587&sr=1-1&keywords=ST8000DM004

Link if you want. For a mass media drive it shouldn't matter. For games, I still say get a SSD as your games drive and use that instead.
Got one of his drives 2 days ago. Shucked and got this one:

I own a 2011 iMac 27 - so I'm happy to help.
Your specs are fine in terms of processor, RAM, and GPU.
Really, the best bang for the buck, on THIS unit, is the drives. The main board has 2 SATA3 ports, and you should take advantage.
You need to get a decent SSD (1TB units are far cheaper now - DON'T GET A QVO MODEL), and I got an 8TB hard disk for the second drive. I didn't do Fusion this time. I use my iMac as a Plex server, and it ROCKS as that.
NOTE: If you take out the mainboard - take off the CPU heatsink and replace the thermal paste with good stuff (MX-4). Spread it thinly, clean your fins/fans, and you'll notice much quieter fans.
If you add a SATA3 drive, or replace the stock drive, you'll need the temperature sensor for each drive you add or replace. Amazon has it - let me know if you need a link to the right one.
Huh?
Well yeah, there are places to get a feel for relative failure rates, https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Performance-Desktop-Internal-HDWF180XZSTA/dp/B074BTZ2YJ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1550958171&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=Toshiba+x300&psc=1#customerReviews
Note the 19% 1-star, 6% 2-star, 8% 3-star review rate for the x300 disk. I consider this to be a 33% "noteworthily bad experience rate". Knowing that out of all noteworthy experiences, 33% of them are bad enough that people get on Amazon to complain rather than to praise the disk.
https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Barracuda-Internal-3-5-Inch-ST8000DM004/dp/B075WYBQXJ/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1550958235&sr=1-5&keywords=8TB+hard+drive#customerReviews
Then the 15%, 3%, 5% 1/2/3-star review rate for a Seagate disk. This means that the Seagate disk has a 23% noteworthily-bad experience rate.
Toss in https://reviewmeta.com/amazon/B074BTZ2YJ (445/562 reviews pass muster, adjusted rating is same as Amazon aggregate rating) https://reviewmeta.com/amazon/B075WYBQXJ (1445/2627 reviews past muster, adjusted rating is the same as Amazon aggregate rating) meaning that the ratios of good/bad reviews are the same and you can get a pretty good idea of what the disks' reliability is like in general uses.
