An update file re-writes old game files for that respective game.

The reason why more space is required than what the update file tells you is because of storage limitations, prompting an error.

I encounter this issue very frequently because I have a lot of video clips stored on the System Storage (500 GB SSD), and every time I want to update a game that I know has to be updated and the file size for that update is less than 10 gigs, I have to delete or trim 15 or more gigs of video.

I highly recommend buying a 2TB SeaGate Game Drive (you can find it for ~$90).

I bought the 2TB version of this!

Just sounds like another one of those "gaming" devices like this that are just the same device with a different look and gaming/ps4/xbox slapped on the box and charge $20+ more for it. Though oddly enough it actually costs the same as the regular WRT 32X so I'm guessing they are simply going for more sales through brand recognition versus the original.

You can get the ps4 2tb hard drive I seen it’s really good as long as you take care of it. I been planning on getting it. Here’s the link

The game downloads are pretty large and take up a lot of space. I suggest getting a 1TB PS4 external hard drive. They’re like ~ $50 on Amazon.

This is the storage I have, it goes into the USB of the PS4.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious (I just found out last month) but ps4 now supports USB external hard drives. I have a launch ps4 with 500gb as well, just bought an $89 2TB Seagate hard drive, plugged it in, formatted it and now I have 2.5TB with no noticeable performance issues.

Just a suggestion: I ordered an external hard drive and that works for me. You just plug it in to the ps4 via USB. It’s weird cuz technically you could unplug it mid-game and you’d lose everything. But it’s also portable. So bring it to a friends and play the games on their ps4. I didn’t think it was worth buying another ps4 or trading in so I went the slightly cheeper, and easier route.
