Personally, I would bring three pairs of shoes:

  1. Brown or Burgundy Dress Shoes (for fancy meals or excursions)
  2. Comfortable White Sneakers (for general use)
  3. Water-Resistant Sandals (for poolside / beachside wear)

You have a lot of options for #1. Stafford Wingtips have been on sale for ~$35 recently, and they would definitely fit the bill. They lean casual, but you shouldn't be in any situations where truly formal shoes are required. You just need something that will get you into places with dress codes, and these will serve that purpose.

You also have a wide variety of options for #2; Vans Canvas Authentics, Chucks, Stan Smiths, etc. would all work great. Make sure you get something that's comfortable to walk around in for a few hours at a time; if your feet can't handle chucks, they might not be a good choice.

For #3, you could try a pair of Tevas, provided they work with your style. If you're not going to be around too much water, you could get some Rainbows instead. You could also bring some Espadrilles (option #2), if you like the style. They might take a while to dry if you get them wet, but they're lightweight and packable, so you could easily take them along if you wanted to. As /u/blargleblaggo said, boat shoes would also be a good choice; look into Sebago Docksides as another option. Or, you could pick up some cheap-ass flip-flops on Amazon. Your choice.

No matter what shoes you end up taking, all of your bases should be covered. :)

Sebago Docksides are also a common suggestion in that price range.

Fine. Preppy. I would recommend Sebago or Sperrys instead though. If you're looking for that exact color I would suggest tan Sebagos.
