Not sure if you're willing to consider a third option, but after killing countless boat shoes I can say that docksides hold up the best by miles and also, to my eye, look just as good or better.

yea i'm going to have to agree with skmt on this. these look like a bad hybrid of loafers and boat shoes. you're better off picking up a pair of sebago's/sperry's boat shoes on sale or some penny loafers.
