The Squier Bullet is a universally recommended starter guitar.

People here will likely also recommend Rondo music guitars (not on Amazon).

Starter kits are a ripoff. Spend a little more and get a starter guitar and an amp.

sure, its a fender squire bullet strat like mint green if you cant tell from pics, comes with amp, strap, tuner, picks, guitar bag and an instructional dvd. Used twice in its lifetime because im terrible at it. hows $140 for everything?

Just search for "Fender Squeir" on Amazon, you'll see what's up. Avoid the bundles (comes with a case and/or amp). You can always pick those up later. Here's the difference between what you see:

  • telecaster - has three pick-ups (the sensors under the strings) and a tremolo ("whammy") bar. The bar makes the strings audibly go up and down while you press it, but can also cause the guitar to go out of tune sooner. The area where the neck meets the body also has more room for your hand to fret the super-high notes.
  • stratocaster - has two pick-ups and no whammy bar.
