https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EQYYUG/ This was what i used. If you look at the reviews, you'll see my pictures of the towel i made. I do have to tie and tuck the floss. The backing comes off with washing but honestly i haven't applied a new backing since i made it. You can sew it on after ironing for extra reinforcement.

yes! you need to go out and buy some THIN fusible interfacing. i have this kind at home which irons on and then stays permanently.

based on the pattern, you will probably need enough for the whole collar, and for the fabric going down where the buttons are. that is based on my experience making a dress with buttons going down it.
