It would probably be more cost effective to get an FM transmitter such as this:
http://www.amazon.com/TeckNet%C2%AE-Universal-Transmitter-Rechargeable-Battery/dp/B000R5NJCE/ref=sr_1_5?s=mp3&ie=UTF8&qid=1411240995&sr=1-5&keywords=fm+transmitter

Thats just one suggestion, do a little research on these devices, as the sound quality can vary greatly.
You can have a new stereo installed at Best Buy/local car audio shop, or perhaps even get a patch cable wired into your existing stereo, but those options are gonna start at like $250 and go up, so it might be worth the $10-$20 to try one of these out before you drop real money.

This would make trips a whole lot cooler in my old car. Here's to hoping I don't miss it by a second.

Here are a few options.
I have had success with both of these before Belkin TuneCast, Belkin TuneCast II

This one looks cool, A Belkin knock off
I am acutally using a iPod version of this one in my 94 Honda right now. It has the 30 pin connector instead of the 3.5mm jack and comes with a remote. Not the best quality but it does the job.

If you use eBay, here are a few options as well.
