yes, dissociation is related to a number of documented physiological shifts, and many of us tend to dissociate upon exposure to particular kinds of triggers.

Latest findings -being already incorporated into the official scientific paradigm at this point- show that sight and hearing (amongst others) do change as our nervous system response shifts between [nervous] states of safe VS not-safe.

I've had acute eye' sensitivity for months for the first time in my life, I didnt know why either..

Last two weeks I'm working on the emotional flashbacks management and as a result I came to inhabiting my body again, after a couple years 'dissociating' and experiencing for my first time ever an extreme sensitivity to light –just these weeks it's the first time I've been able to open and use my eyes normally outdoors in over a year;

glad you've observed this; know you're not alone;

mad congrats on the realizations.

Great list!

Want to add one more if possible. The Polyvagal Theory! - explains neurobiological basis for cPTSD and how the vagus nerve is central to healing from it.

I was actually looking that up recently but this book specifically:

The Polyvagal Theory: Neurophysiological Foundations of Emotions, Attachment, Communication, and Self-regulation

I'm just not sure I'd want to try to tackle it because I'd assume that it's full of scientific jargon and probably beyond my ability to comprehend.

I've been following this youtuber recently and I think she's pretty spot on about how CPTSD, Chronic Dissociation(freeze response), and Schizoid are all related. I kind of wish I had these videos earlier as it would've explained things much easier rather than me having to go through a multitude of books.
