So I decided to re-sub to Amazon Prime just for The X-Files because I've been starving for that show for years and I had no idea it was available. I'm super hyped. I love how weird the show feels in the first few episodes. Season 1 isn't the strongest in the show's history (pretty sure Season 5 takes that award) but it's not crap, either.
Anticipating the "trapped in a videogame" episode that I seem to remember being complete hilarious garbage when it aired. Can't wait to see how horribly it's aged.
Beat the MK 11 story mode in like an evening. I don't get what the disappointment was about. It was pretty obvious that NRS couldn't keep the story arc going as it was (despite the introduction of the new blood in the last game). I really don't blame them for hitting the reset button, given how ridiculous and convoluted the game's history is. >!The Raiden vs. Liu Kang vision that Raiden receives was pretty cool though, just to see all the neat different versions of them duking it out.!<
Disappointed that Cetrion is just a jobber and Kronika is basically a floating bald woman >!who pretty much essentially wins in the end despite dying (she managed to reset the timeline, after all. At least that means we'll probabl get to see Mileena again;)!< and that Geras, despite having a badass personality and a great character design, is just... there. Meh. Also Kotal. Ooof.
After trying a few characters, I'm surprised to find that I'm really enjoying Skarlet. Given that most of the video I'd seen of her had cemented her very specifically as a zoner, I was impressed by her neutral and reset game and glad that I didn't have to rely necessarily on her zoning game (which really pales in comparison to the likes of Cetrion). I don't really give a shit about "tournament" versions of her character, and my version has her set up to fight at all ranges with the benefit of her DoT aura, her teleport and a defensive shield. She's very cool.
Haven't touched the Krypt at all. According to Max, there are apparently chests you can open in it that are in the same place for everyone. so I'm hoping someone has a guide out there where I can at least unlock some of Skarlet's stuff. What a pain in the ass.
Game's fun, though.
Google Play has the TV series (I bought 1 - 10 on there). Are you outside the US?
