Sounds like what you are suggesting, but if you read the label of that bottle, it sounds - well, "nasty" isn't quite the word. Keep it on the terminals and off your skin, and you'll probably (?) be ok.
I just wonder if there is a smaller size available; $30.00 bucks for a 1/2 pound seems a bit steep, and I don't know if you'd ever use it up outside of a repair shop - seems like something that would sit on the shelf most of the time in a home setting.
