It was pretty easy. I have the D-Link motion sensor and the TP-Link Smart Bulbs.

On your phone/tablet, install the Kaza app for TP-Link and the mydlink Home app. I forget this step but basically add your devices to their apps and allow 3rd party usage. I wanna say I linked everything (including IFTTT) though my Google login.

Then, in IFTTT you search for "link" to find the dlink motion sensor and add that for motion detected. For the "that" look for tp-link and add their smart bulb and do a state change or whatever you want.

After that, configure how you like. Within the mydlink app I personally have it so the sensor turns on after 8 pm so that it only triggers the lights at night.

Been running the setup since December and the trigger time seems to be about 5 seconds or less consistently.
