You'll have to let me know where you go and how you make out; I want to fish that area when I'm next visiting my parents.

If you're doing still water stuff, powerbait should be fine on whatever setup you've already got, though your LMB line is probably too heavy.

My setup is an UL rod with a smaller reel, spooled with 4lb P-line flouroclear. I use inline spinners, spoons, and small (1/64 or 1/32 oz) jigs. I really don't fish much still water, so if you're going to be casting at a pond or lake I don't have much advice outside the powerbait and wait method.

I also use these Trout Magnet kits that come with different lure colors and the teeny jig heads, if you're looking for an easy jumping-off point. They will catch everything in the pond since the hook is so small, but even bluegill are fun on the UL rod!

Gonna be hot, so stick to the cooler water and shady areas if you can
