Was putting my faith in the descriptions that they were really rated at 10Gbps since the hub and coupler basically no-name brands but I am thoroughly enjoying it.
Because some of the were ugly as sin?

Seriously, how much effort is it to take some previously made art and size it to the icon? Why bother creating lazy pieces in the first place?
I think I found a solution for you:
Take this female A to male C adapter, plug it into this female C-to-C adapter, then plug one end of your C-to-C cable into it and the other end into this.
Don't get me started on compatibility or spec-compliance though, although for your intended USB-A use case, this should work!
Found this cable today, it says it can have up to 5gbs speed. Would it work for link?

I just noticed that the item in the link has a male end and my Apple Thunderbolt 3–>2 adaptor is male as well. Do you think any female-to-female USB-C adaptor could break the thunderbolt compatibility? Could that throughput that I need cancel out getting the right connector? Lol
Would a product like this totally break the Thunderbolt compatibility I am looking for?
