The easiest/safest thing would be to use something like these Velcro straps.

Here is what I would do,

  1. Find a joist in the wall.

  2. Mark a spot at the bottom of the joist one inch or so above the floor.

  3. Lean your mattress up against the wall how you want it.

  4. Mark a spot on the same joist just even with the top of the mattress.

  5. Lay the mattress back down and attach one end of the Velcro strap to the mark at the bottom of the joist using two screws (washers on the screws would be optimal) one near each corner of the Velcro strap width wise. Make sure that the end or cut side of the strap is pointing up and not towards the floor.

  6. Now lean the mattress back up against the wall. It should be on top of the Velcro now.

  7. Take the Velcro strap and bring it up to the mark that you made on the joist at the top of the mattress so that the strap is taught.

  8. Depending on the weight of your mattress measure 4-5 feet more from the mark and cut the strap.

  9. Lay the mattress back down and off of the strap attached to the wall. Store or discard the leftover strap.

  10. Now measure the strap attached to the wall and cut it in half.

  11. Take the half from the strap that you just cut that isn't attached to the wall and attach it to the higher mark on the joist in the same fashion that you did on the bottom. MAKE SURE that it is attached with either the hooks or the loops pointing the same direction as the strap on the bottom and so that the cut end is pointing down.

  12. Now to store the mattress just fold it up against the wall and fasten both straps together.

Sorry for the long winded instructions. Hope that helped in some way. :)
