>My goal is to create stock footage.

u/RoutineTension - here's some camera advice from: How to Earn Money Selling Stock Video:

"Can shoot 4K. This gives customers the extra resolution to reposition the frame if they’re exporting in HD.

Can shoot at least 60fps at 1920x1080. This will allow you record smooth slow motion in true HD.

Can record 10-bit natively or using an external video recorder. This gives your footage more color information for grading. It also reduces banding and other unwanted artifacts in your footage."

You probably want a camera that can record 10-bit, at least. For me, that eliminates 8-bit Sony cameras and all Nikon DSLRs.

>Would you say it's sensible/logical to own a GH5(S) for videography while owning a D810 for photography?

That might work, but I'd say keep the D810 for stills and get a 12-bit RAW dedicated cinema camera such as the $1295 Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (when they're back in stock) plus an $82.99 Viltrox NF-M43x Nikon to MFT focal reducer/adapter for your Nikkors [Referral Links].

The BMPCC 4K will cost you less than the GH5s - and give you images with wider dynamic range and a deeper color palette.

Here are a few examples of the image quality this camera can produce:

Is your Lens a Canon or Nikon mount? The kind of adapter you buy will depend on that kind of camera the lens is designed to go on. If it's designed to go on a Canon camera, you'll want this adapter. If it's designed to go on Nikon camera, you'll want this adapter

This one is a basic adapter. Or this for a speedboosting adapter with aperture control.

> I recently acquired the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 (Nikon mount) with speedbooster. It’s the lens I leave on my GH4. Useful lengths for everyday, casual, fun, whatever you may need. It’s massive, heavy but super pretty.

It is! Saw a lot of GH4 / GH5 vids with Sigma 18-35mm on youtube and it is something to look at. Just a question, were you bothered by the vignetting? And if im going with a Sigma 18-35mm, can I use a use a cheaper adaptor like this: https://www.amazon.com/VILTROX-NF-M43X-adapter-aperture-infinity/dp/B072XF4L4J/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 . Thinking of trying this out first and then borrowing some Nikon lenses from friends then I'm also going for the Sigma 18-35mm. Saw some people selling it lower than the 12-35 f/2.8 so I might consider it. Thanks!
