This is the one I got works on 1996 vehicles and up and is bluetooth

I bought this one off Amazon. It's a few dollars more expensive than the cheapest ones, but seems to have better reviews. I've had good luck with it as well.

Definitely going to incorporate OBD-II after all the feedback I got on here. I ordered a reader yesterday. Cheaper than I thought... After the first couple tests with real hardware (all currently shipped, 2-3 day ETA) and everything looks relatively okay, I'll more officially kick off the project (likely get a sourceforge page setup, etc). I don't want to start making accounts and subreddits all over the place with the name crashberrypi until I'm more confident the RPi it's going to handle the load.

For now I'll just post updates in my spreadsheet and self posts to /r/raspberry_pi. It'll likely be just two or three self posts until tests are done, and it's relevant to the RPi enough...
