One of our cookware experts recommends this Zyliss press, which she says has lasted her 8 years so far.

Another one of our kitchenware writers owns this Oxo press and can also attest to it being durable. https://www.amazon.com/OXO-SteeL-Garlic-Press-Stainless/dp/B0000CDVD7

The Zyliss works great, you don't even have to peel the cloves and it crushes into a very fluffy, nice texture. The hopper is really big and the ergonomics very comfortable even when you've overfilled it.

I've got this one and love it:

Depends on the press. Mine crushes unpeeled cloves just fine.

I've always liked the Zyliss garlic presses

With presses like these, you don't even have to peel the garlic. Just pop a clove off the head and press through. No excuses!

I have considered the brushy guys, that one looks like it has the resevoir for soap in it. My garlic press, though, came with a little plastic cleaner thing that stores in the handle, similar to this one

Thanks, that is brilliant. I hate peeling garlic.

I have tried a few of them. Agreed most suck. Depending on the recipe I often do just slice some quick like in spaghetti aglio e olio but if I want an easy and fine grate I found this [one] (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007D3V00Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) won me over for not pushing out the sides. As well, you don't even need to peel it. Just break it off and press.

Getting a garlic press was a total game changer for me. I kind of hate the idea of specialized kitchen gadgets, but it's just so much easier.

Plus, mine comes with a little brush thing that lets you scoop/push the extra garlic out of the press. Like this. Highly recommended.

you need a new garlic press. LOL

this one looks good and it's good brand. also oxo is a good brand. I am sure there are others too.

I'm with you on this one. While most people say a mince is fine I greatly prefer garlic presses. When you press garlic it just melts into the dish and you get that great garlic flavor without any garlic bits. No matter how tiny I mince I still find little bits which is annoying to me. Between my mother and I we have tried a lot of garlic presses and we have both found that this one is perfect. We had an oxo one recently that was nice but the garlic ran up the sides.
