Sounds like fun! I'll have to do this later

1.) Something that is grey: Pelican Gray Nail Polish. (on private WL)

2.) Something reminiscent of rain: Shower Curtain is a barrier between the bathroom tiles and cascading, rain-like, waterfall that flows from the showerhead. (on dream WL)

3.) Something food related that is unusual: Candy Mold. Chocolate frogs, anyone? (on under $5 WL)

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. (Yes, pets count!): Ice Cream Maker. No ice cream for me because I started keto last week. My friends and family would benefit from this when I make them some delicious ice cream. (on dream WL)

5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it!: The Knife of Never Letting Go. It's book one of the Chaos Walking trilogy, which has rave reviews. Apparently it's a dark, dystopian book full of suspense. (on high priority WL)

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related!: Laser Finger Beams (not on WL)

7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! (keep this SFW, you know who you are...): Westside Warrior Nail Polish. Lions, which are really big cats, are warriors of the jungle. (on under $5 WL)

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it: Origami Star Paper. I like folding these, but once I make them into stars, I literally have nothing to do with them. There's jars of them all across my house and all I can do is look at them (on under $5 WL)

9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why?: Song from Iron Man 3 Soundtrack. Everyone should see it because Iron Man + Tony Stark + RDJ = <3 (on digital WL)

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain.: Spin-the-shot. If zombies attack, I would need to be drunk, so this would come in handy for some last minute fun before I turn into a brain eating zombie. Let's face it, I'm not surviving a zombie attack... (on $5-$10 WL)

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals: Coconut Oil. Everyone on the keto subreddit raves about this stuff. Being a newbie to this lifestyle, I feel that if so many people had great results using this oil, that it would help with my goals. (on $11-$25 WL)

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items: Anti-stress face mask (not surprisingly, found on my add-on WL)

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why?: Globe Bar. I would feel like a super cool James Bond-esque spy who would have a secret room hidden behind a bookshelf. Plus I love alcohol and globes. (on dream WL)

14.) Something bigger than a bread box: Desk Easel. (on $11-25 WL)

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball: Earrings. (on private WL)

16.) Something that smells wonderful: Pink Punch Baby Lips (on add-ons WL)

17.) A (SFW) toy: Kindle. I would consider this a techie toy. (on dream WL)

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school: Fun Colored Pens. (on add-on WL)

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be: Paints. My current obsession is painting! (on $11-25 WL)

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand: Mug. I love love love this literature mug. I not only love the varying typography all over it, but I think that there are some really striking first lines of literature. (on $11-25 WL)

BONUS

1.) Real name: PM sent

2.) Made in Oregon: Handwarmer Mug

Edit: raffle phrase - fear cuts deeper than swords

I decided keep the linked album short and simple, so here are some more photos of each design. Some of the photos may seems repetitive or unnecessary, but I figured someone might enjoy them!

Geometric web and floral design

Glow in the dark

Bonus! Side effect of handling the glow paper. (space fingers!)

Both of them have their flaws. The last tetrahedron didn't seem to want to fit quite as well, so it got a bit squished or bent in both of them. The web/floral design was my first attempt and I think it actually came out better. The glow in the dark looks kind of sloppy in normal lighting, but the point was to look good in the dark and I think it works alright for that.

Here are links for the paper used:

Geometric web and floral pattern: Japanese site and US site

Glow in the dark: Japanese site and US site, different but similar

These were really fun to make! It wasn't as hard as I expected after reading comments from those who had made them before. Definitely going on my "favorites" list and I'll try at least a couple of ideas for colors and patterns.

I am a video game tard and anime and whatever is nerdy I suppose. I am a great cook and love to bake new things. Crafts are fun too :) I love doing everything...I guess I am a jack of all trades for the most part. I think this represents me since I like to be creative and mold myself to be awesome :P here

Well, now that I'm in Hawaii, it's like summer 24/7, but when I lived on the mainland, my favorite thing was always going to the lake with my friends. Swimming is one of my very favorite things to do, second only to hiking. Unfortunately, Tennessee gets too hot for long hikes in the middle of the summer, so that's more of a spring/fall thing for me.

I would love to have this origami paper off my default wishlist!! :D

Edit: Oops, Gimme S'More! XD

getting the supplies

Agar agar powder. [US](https://www.amazon.com/Telephone-Product-Thailand-Powder-Ounce/dp/B01KMHY2OU/) [Europe](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Special-Ingredients-Premium-Gelatine-European/dp/B00EZMPMNE)

Always start with agar! And don't throw old fully colonized plates out. Some contaminants (e.g. mycogone, AKA wet bubble disease will only show up after full colonization (white blobs oozing yellow/orange fluid). and that one (mycogone) will fck up your grow hard, been there done that...

Light malt extract. [US](https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Light-Dried-Malt-Extract/dp/B007XYGBXQ/) [Europe](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Balliihoo-Light-Spraymalt-1Kg-Bag/dp/B0153BASSY/)

Containers for no pour agar (Pasty Plates). [US](https://www.amazon.com/Glad-Food-Storage-Containers-Round/dp/B000WGBMMM/) [Europe](https://www.flaschenbauer.de/einmachglaeser/sturzglaeser/sturzglas-225-ml-to-82) (maybe use Google translate on that site). Also if you are in North America there are Glad mini rounds, they are used in the original Pasty Plate tek. They also have [430ml jars](https://www.flaschenbauer.de/einmachglaeser/sturzglaeser/sturzglas-430-ml-to-82) suitable as substrate containers

A pressure cooker. Good ones are a b**ch to find in Europe. I wouldn't buy [that one](https://www.ebay.de/itm/Pressure-cooker-17L-Stainless-steel-Made-In-Turkey-Largest-Size/133128864948) or similar constructed ones, they are complete s**t, build up next to no pressure and need ungodly amounts of water. I have two of them, but had to do some haphazard MacGyveresqe hacking to get them to sterilize properly, I'll bring that up later.

I also have a Fagor Alu 22 (22 liters, fits eleven quart bottles), but I think that model went out of production in 2017 without a replacement. IMHO the only sane option in Europe right now, would be to order a Presto from the US, they're ~80€ + 40€ shipping, so not that bad. [Presto 23 quart PC](https://www.amazon.com/Presto-Aluminum-23-Quart-Pressure-Canner/dp/B073NCFL2L/)

Also on US websites like shroomery, you'll always read something like "sterilize 90min @ 15 psi". Pressure cookers in Europe usually have no gauges and only go to 50-70 kPa (~7-10 psi). It isn't as bad as it sounds, since sterilization time isn't linear with pressure/temperature. I've found I can get away with 120 min sterilization time for grains, 75 min for PF sub and 30 min for agar.

Scalpel handle and blades. [US](https://www.amazon.com/100-Scalpel-Blades-One-Handle/dp/B01MPX3JTI/) [Europe](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swann-Morton-Handle-5-10-Blades/dp/B004OIAVJY/)

(optional) inoculation loop. Tyvek (for filtered lids). [US](https://www.amazon.com/Dupont-Tyvek-105gm-A5-Sheets/dp/B07418F31G/) [Europe](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tyvek-75gm-Bumper-pack-sheets/dp/B004EXTKSW/)

(optional) oster blender attachments used for PF slurry or LI. [China](https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Head-Ice-Crushing-Crusher-Blade-Replacement-Part-For-Oster-Osterizer-Blender/182451440105)

3M Micropore tape (for filtered lids and monotub holes). [US](https://www.amazon.com/3M-1530-1-Micropore-Tape-Pack/dp/B0082A9FEM/) [Europe](https://www.amazon.co.uk/3M-Micropore-Surgical-First-Medical/dp/B01KYK2666/)

A spray bottle for soapy water. [US](https://www.amazon.com/Tolco-Bottle-Frosted-Assorted-Colors/dp/B000H88PCU/) [Europe](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Leifheit-72416-Laundry-Sprayer/dp/B0049PB11Y/)

Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), 70%. [US](https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Brand-Isopropyl-Antiseptic-Technical/dp/B07NFSFBXQ/) (dilute down to 70%, that percentage is best for sanitization [EU](https://www.amazon.co.uk/We-Can-Source-Ltd-Fingerprints/dp/B07PGB5X6Y/)

A rack to elevate your agar dishes while you do transfers, like these that come with microwave ovens (contaminants tend to collect on the SABs bottom).

A slightly wet towel to put the SAB on. Some people disagree on this, I use the towel to absorb the sprayed soap/water mix and not having that run off the table.

A clear box that's modified as a SAB. I use this one as a SAB, maybe they ship outside Germany. Anyway the manufacturer is kis.it (builds the monotub too), so I think they might be available elsewhere in Europe: https://www.obi.de/aufbewahrungsboxen/obi-allzweckbox-santos-transparent-oversize-140-l/p/3333341?template=PDP&box=box4

More clear boxes used to fruit bottles (basically a monotub, just with individual substrate containers). I use these as unmodded monos (no holes, no flipped lid, lids not latched): https://www.obi.de/aufbewahrungsboxen/obi-allzweckbox-cadiz-l-mit-4-rollen-transparent/p/1930387.

Butane torch [US](https://www.amazon.com/Multipurpose-MDee-Culinary-Refillable-Adjustable/dp/B07MNN2B43) [Europe](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kollea-Adjustable-Refillable-Blowtorch-Soldering/dp/B07QC1T6H5)

Bottles (can be wide mouth pint mason jars (US), quart Ziplock PP5 containers (US) or [these (which I use)](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Round-Food-Containers-Plastic-Clear-Storage-Tubs-with-Lids-Deli-Pots-2oz-to-32oz/232308091965)

modular designs often work well with small sheets and are nice to hang up with tassels or decorative knots

plain printer paper is fine; but you can also print/paint designs onto the paper before cutting (im sure theres websites with free designs if you arent inclined to create your own) or cheap single colour (i love this paper for small simple modular units)

u/stagier_malingering · 1 pointr/origami

I love the way that glassine looks when exposed to light. It comes in many colors and is pretty cheap.

How bright is your bulb and what kind is it? Are you going to build the light cover as a stand alone or to slip it over the glass dome? Some bulbs will benefit more with more diffusion than others. Still, I would not underestimate just how much dimmer regular paper can make a light.

There are kits with similar ideas out there already.

If you want to make it yourself out of paper, I would strongly recommend cheating. Use paste or tape or maybe even a wire support structure. This is especially important when you consider the shape of your lampshade. You will need a way to attach it to your lamp. Many traditional modular modals stay together based on a combination of friction and locks, and work best when the tension of the paper is evenly distributed. Glassine in particular is very slippery. If you start with a spherical model and have to leave a space for the entry point of the bulb or have to keep the model pulled apart slightly, it will be much less stable. Something like PHiZZ units might be a good place to start, but you probably won't get opaque coverage with them. I'm sure other will be able to give you recommendations.

Paper can also react in different ways when constantly exposed to light and go more brittle or change color. You probably don't want to accidentally bump your lamp and have it fall apart into pieces, you know?

I like using these to fold cranes. They're super cheap (and super small!) but fun to fold and easy to carry. I was able to buy them in a shop in LA for about a buck-fifty, so I grabbed a few packs before I left. I may never run out!

u/AngelicBabyGirl · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I am sorry, I hope you have a great day today! :3

Well I can see you like origami so here is some cute paper so that you can venture on to bigger projects than stars, which i love but can't make!

Here is a storage box to keep all of your paper organized and safe!

u/1dirtypanda · 1 pointr/PrimeDay2016

A total of 7 separate orders. It was a bit annoying because I was mostly on my phone and the mobile apps/chrome wouldn't load properly. Also I would have preferred to bundle orders but oh well. or try to use more coupons but they only give you so many minutes in the cart and sometimes the next item that you're waiting for a deal to start is right outside that window.

u/spencerkami · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

The best I have is Origami paper or wools that would totally have red and whites in them. Maybe. Woo Liverpool~

My boyfriend does like Chelsea and our housemate Arsenal and I once had the audacity to make the latter tea in a blue Chelsea mug. I was thoroughly told off =)

If anyone's interested in the paper, it's Yasutomo holographic.

Amazon has really cheap options for 1000 sheets of paper; but like @ilykeurface mentioned, best get more sheets - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001J2YI7E/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487343266&sr=sr-1&keywords=1000+paper

I usually buy that size to make kudusamas too

u/Gorloth · 3 pointsr/origami

I've done a bunch of modular origami (https://www.flickr.com/photos/origamibucket/) none of my models are glued. Most everything holds together pretty well, although it does vary with the modules. Things like Phizz and bascetta star units tend to interlock pretty well and will allow some tossing around just fine. I tend to use paper such as (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XQ16APY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which is on the thicker side but not uncomfortably so. I have found that the size of the paper tends to influence how well things hold, too big and things are loose and too small and it's hard to make them lock correctly. I usually take 15cm paper and divide it into 1/4th both directions giving 16 squares that are just the right size to deal with.

u/jsu718 · 2 pointsr/origami

Like most I order from amazon. For anything modular there is a set of 1000 2,75 inches square. 6 is good for almost anything else, but for something super complex I will make it from a roll of parchment paper or craft paper.

u/lucasorigami · 1 pointr/origami

I found this I haven't bought it myself but i think its pretty good quality, and prettig cheap too (€10 for 1000 sheets).

u/oisterjosh · 2 pointsr/origami

Judging by the picture, it looks like these might have the glue, but I'm not sure. The reviews look good, and it's a decent price for 1000 sheets.

Edit: oops, forgot link :)

u/MercifulWombat · 1 pointr/origami

I wouldn't call this "good" paper, but it's better than Fold'ems or Daiso. It's square and folds well. $8 for 120 15x15cm sheets. I highly recommend it for level 2 beginners who are past cranes and balloons but aren't up to super complex stuff yet.

u/theadventurecat · 6 pointsr/origami

I bought these from amazon...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001J2YI7E?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

And just created 23 boxes in order of the shades :) there are 50 colors plus gold and silver but I just picked out the most vibrant ones. The 👍👍

u/Aoibhell · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

I'm always so amazed at what people find for under $5 here... thanks for hosting- these contests are actually helpful :D

Dumb question... does it have to be beauty related? If not, I have been obsessed with origami paper
ever since I saw this. If it does have to be makeup related, I'd go with this lippie. :D

u/Richard__Cranium · 4 pointsr/origami

I use this to carry an assortment of 6x6 and smaller papers around with me, as well as a small pair of exacto scissors and a bone folder thing. It all fits inside as long as I only keep like 300/400 pages in it. It's become very handy and I feel like I take it with me everywhere just in case I'll get bored.

For larger papers or if I'm just grabbing a few, I'll take one of my daughters hardcover books and put them inside of it. Or for some of my 4x4 or 3x3 paper, I'll just put it inside of an old Christmas card or something and put it in the inside pocket of my jacket lol.

u/verylate · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

My favorite dinosaur is made of tiny origami paper. Thanks for the contest!

My awesomely randomly random item is Lucky star ribbon paper!

I guess it's not super random, but it's fun!

And shiny

This is the exact paper I used: http://amzn.com/B000GTSF1Q

However I bought mine in store from Kinokuniya Bookstore in NYC. They also sell it at Pearl River Mart in SoHo. They're like $2.50 there.

The paper he used is 1-1/16in^2 , so yes, tiny.
