When we were kids we’d go to my dad’s work Christmas party every year. The owner’s mother always came with what we called “Snowflake Cookies” because they looked like snowflakes to us. They’re actually called pizzelles
When we got into middle school we started helping the church make cookies for the Christmas fundraiser. They had the right machines to make the same cookies.
The work Christmas parties and church cookie bakes ended by the time we entered high school. The woman that made them when we were kids moved into assisted living and gave us the maker and her recipe when she was downsizing.
You can buy the maker online or probably in a lot of stores around Christmas time. I found one on amazon
I don’t have it offhand, but the pizzelle maker I have came with a book of recipes.
It’s this one

Edit: they’re fun for potlucks and stuff too. I’ve also molded them over cupcake tins to make waffle cups for an ice cream potluck
Well, just go ahead and make some!
Here's my veganized recipe!
It does require a special appliance to get the special pattern and thickness.
I used a pizzelle maker that I bought on Amazon. If you plan on making this, you might get better results with a waffle cone maker.
Awesome! I knew there was another name for them but couldn't pull what it was. You think a pizzelle press would work?

One of my next endeavors is to try out chaffle crackers using one of these when I get around to buying one. Oh the places we'll go

You can also use a pizzelle press, it will just have a fancier pattern instead of waffle pattern
Yes- this is the one I have, which I received from my grandma and had NO idea it was that expensive... that seems really excessive to me!
