A better subreddit would be /r/MechanicalKeyboards. That's the top place to go for keyboard advice. If you don't understand some of the terms I'm using, I'd recommend doing some reading on that subreddit.

On getting a keyboard for gaming, you'll generally want low actuation force on your keys (how hard you have to press down), as it decreases the time it takes between your brain saying "I want to press this key," your fingers pressing the key, and the key press notifying the game that a specific action needs to be registered. You'll also want the switches to be linear rather than tactile, as it means there is no "bump" that you have to overcome in order to activate the key. Some people prefer this for typing, but a lot of is up to preference.

Here is a decent little page dedicated to explaining the differences between Blues, Browns, and Reds.

This is still up to personal preference, but generally speaking the actuation force and switch type (linear vs tactile) you end up liking is the type you start out with. You get used to it and like it the most. So if you have the opportunity, try out different stuff and see what you like.

But regardless, I'd recommend a keyboard that uses Cherry MX Red switches. They're the most common switches that have a low actuation force. Most keyboards come with different options for switches - the most common being:

Red (linear, lower actuation) - Smoothest, quickest switch to use.

Black (linear, higher actuation) - Like reds, but heavier. Takes more effort to push them down

Brown (tactile, lower actuation) - There's a "bump" you feel as you press down. Simialar in feeling to a typewriter. Much quieter than blues.

Blue (tactile, higher actuation) - Almost the same as browns, but a tad higher actuation. Also much louder and "clickier."

A good mechanical is going to run you a bit over $100, but here is a great buying guide on the subreddit wiki. If you scroll down, you'll see a $0-100 section.

Of those listed, I'd recommend the Ducky, the CM brands, and the Rosewill (as a cheap option to try all this out).

Realistically, I'd probably recommend you spend 30 more dollars and get a Filco Majestouch 2. I'd argue it's still by far the best keyboard for the price. I'm currently typing this post out on one, and it's what I use for Tekken, Dota, etc. I'm of course biased, but it also has costar stabilizers (I won't explain what that means here), which makes the spacebar and other larger keys much easier to press down. This is also the version that doesn't have the numpad, which makes it a lot more portable and a lot easier to move around. I prefer the TKL (short for "ten keys less) versions myself, but it's up to personal perference.

Anyway, that buying guide I linked you is actually a really good page to read. I'd recommend it heartily. If you have any other questions, hit me up or make a post on the mechanical keyboard subreddit. They're all really welcoming there.

So aside from the FC4 and 5 there's also:

Mad Catz Fightpad Pro, which is similar to the FC but also has a analog stick and possibly a better d-pad. This guy talks about it here.

The older version seems to be this one, but I heard the dpad is not so hot.

The Retro-Bit Sega Saturn controller, which is a replica of the good old Saturn pad which many consider the best pad of its era. I've been thinking of getting this one because of the d-pad and supposedly it's cheap and has good build quality.

Then there's this controller from PowerA and it looks a lot like the Saturn pad. It hasn't been released yet though.

The Fighting Commander is probably your safest bet, but the Saturn style pad looks good too.

11 of these 24mm buttons (You can get any color, the buttons just need to be 24mm)

One 30mm button

PS3+PC PCB (You can pick a different PCB, but this is one of the cheapest. I use this one for my personal build)

Finally, you'll need a case.
This website by far has the best custom cases you can buy. They're upwards of $70, but look great. This is what mine looks like. Just make sure that if you order from here, you get the hitbox button layout top.

Your other options for a case are to buy a different custom one online, or to make your own. I did the latter first. As long as you have the tools, it's really cheap and can be a fun process. This is the video I followed for doing this.

I got carpal tunnel playing way too much Tekken and Beatmania right before season 3. I wasn't listening to my body and it progressed to this. I won't be able to play for a long time and it maybe in my best interest to quit fighting games in general. Be sure to listen to your body and take preventative steps like with exercising.

Also it's not a bad idea to wear a non intrusive wrist brace to just support your wrist while playing. If you're not convinced, Knee wears wrist braces while playing. Some on told me this is the wrist brace Aris wears and it seems pretty good: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PFUPRQ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm not going to recommend playing Tekken on a keyboard as IMO that's a terrible idea but if you want a good Keyboard get WASD: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/mechanical-keyboard.html?dir=asc&order=price

Here is another decent mechanical keyboard for a very reasonable price: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-STRAFE-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B012B6X7MI/ref=zg_bs_402051011_8?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=GN2GG2268K8TJTNJ4BNH&th=1

Since your budget is limited I would get this for Tekken specifically:
https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Fighting-Commander-PlayStation-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01GVOFIAA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487704480&sr=8-1&keywords=fight%2Bcommand

I'd also like to note that there are a ton of mechanical keyboard clones now on the market and it can be super confusing to pick a good one. I would suggest you look at Cherry MX switches only. In addition there are different Cherry switches so I'd suggest doing some research. This will help:

Gotta look at it in a business sense. So the companies of course will make products for the bigger market so it will sell easier, which someone mentioned Sony have more fighting games than M$ does. That said, having those sticks exclusive doesn't mean much considering not everyone are fans of those designs. And if you are a tourney traveler and you also play on many systems, it may be in your best interest to put a Brooks all-in-one board.

The HORI RAP N is actually offered for the Xbone. It is just sold as a theme for T7. Razer may have given Sony the Panthera but Xbox always had the trusty Atrox.

You should have been around during the PS3/X360 days. Situation was hella reversed. Many of the FGs ran better on the X360 so they ran tourneys on them. Meaning you needed your sticks to be compatible for that. Or in some cases people just used a Brooks board anyway.

Honestly you're better off looking around reddit such as /r/buildapcsales or something similar like /r/laptopdeals

It would also help if you specify what country you're located in, because I've linked Canadians the US newegg site and no dice.

Generally I'd stay away from an AMD video card in a laptop for what it's worth by the way. They perform super poorly, and the 10xx series right now for laptops is just too good to pass up. If you're not scared of going refurbished, you can get tons of decent deals around that price range.

Something like this Acer is a good deal. But again, it really depends on how strict you're willing to follow that budget and/or if refurbished laptops are out of the question. Another good refurb Acer. This other Acer is about the same as the prior mentioned one spec wise but with a more recent processor and an SSD, plus it isn't refurbished if you're scared of issues. Regardless both will still play Tekken just fine(albeit on reduced settings compared to the first one I mentioned).

Seems you went up against some WiFi warriors.

WiFi apologists needed to understand that with even the best router, unpredictable microwave interference can occur.

Honestly I feel most WiFi people are using the default router/modem combo supplied by their ISP. They are definitely not using something like this :

I would definitely go for a gaming monitor if possible. I found this Asus monitor on Amazon earlier this year and I've had zero regrets. It has 1ms response time, great colors, and everything looks super smooth. I'm thinking of buying a second one so my monitors for my dual monitor setup are matching. I can't recommend it enough, especially for the price.

Plus there's speakers on it as well but definitely use external speakers or a headset if you can.

Well, I've been playing with Mechanical KB ROCCAT RYOS MK for a couple of years and quite happy with it.

Just these 2 videos can convince you not to buy a stick: first and second

u/Iroald · 2 pointsr/Tekken

I'm on PC as well and have started using my keyboard with Tekken 6 on the PPSSPP and I'll probably continue playing like this in T7 as well, I like it. I'm using this keyboard and while I'm no expert, it's been doing quite well for me.

u/CloudyMusic_ · 2 pointsr/Tekken

I use a regular backpack. Just figure out the dimensions of your stick (remember to account for the height of the joystick) and look for a backpack with a compartment of at least that size, plus a couple inches if you want to play it safe. I got one of these and it fits my HRAP V like a glove.

u/subverxion · 5 pointsr/Tekken

Buying a cheap stick is not always a bad idea. Usually what sucks about cheap sticks is the actual buttons and joystick parts - these are fairly easily replaceable with high quality parts. You used to be able to buy buttons from lizardlick.com but apparently they've gone out of business so you'd need to use something like Focus Attack.

So you can buy a cheap stick, order some Sanwa or Seimitsu buttons and joystick, and spend less for basically the same quality stick as the high end ones. It does take the effort of ordering and changing out the parts though (really not too hard) so the savings will have to justify the effort for you. It does let you customize your stick more though, and it will give you some experience if you want to mess with the stick in the future to deck it out or change out parts.

You can also dual mod them yourself or pay people to. Haven't looked into this so not sure if it would be cheaper to get a cheap stick + high quality parts + dual mod than just buying an already dual modded high end stick.

For example, my friend did all of this with this stick as a start. And yet he still hasn't changed the panel art...

Arcade stick or pad is a preference. There's really no right answer. Personally, I love stick. I picked one up soon after I got into fighting games, because I loved the idea of them and I knew that I would love using one, and I haven't looked back since.

If you are curious about arcade sticks, just keep in mind that they take a few months to get used to. Some people pick it up faster than others, but for me it was a good month before I became accustom to it and then a handful more before it felt truly natural.

As for third-party pad alternatives, I know that Hori ( Fighting Commander 4 & Fighting Commander ) and MadCatz ( FightPad PRO ) both make controllers geared towards fighting games. Personally, that FightPad PRO looks bizarre to me.
