This is a pretty solid technique to clean coils, but good luck "reclaiming" anything out of the process. You want the foil under the coil to catch the spent wax so you can just toss it.

Q-tips are great too for quick cleaning after each session. I got some of these ultra luxurious swabs from Amazon and I honestly can't believe I used anything else:

KINGZHUO 1000pcs Cotton Swabs 4"... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0734JL881?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Hot 99% isopropyl alcohol + table salt in a Ziploc sitting in very hot water works awesome too. Swish the alcohol and salt around the coils (or whatever) and it speeds up the process pretty significantly.

Special thanks to u/Morgan-3D and u/Lps2 for the STLS! I modified the Poseidon/Mod holder to fit my Joytech infinite....had an error when printing and it ended up being a perfect fit for the reverse banger and grommet. Coil holder and second Poseidon stand are awesome, thanks again to everyone here for providing so many tips. Happy Sunday y'all!

Details:

Joytech Espion Infinite & Sai TAF (Awesome Mod, but no Arctic Fox compatibility. The TCR mode is great so I don't feel like I'm missing out too much; I have a backup VooPoo I'll get around to flashing soon).

Usually running Triple Black Ceramic, TCR 366 / 27 Watts / 360 - 430 / Locked @ 0.29 with the Reverse Banger on a halfway decent rig. I get very solid clouds and throaty strong rips all day. I have some ti & quartz buckets to try but I'm so happy with the Triple Black I haven't got around to it yet.

Favorite items are obviously the 3D Prints and Reverse Banger. Loving this wax Carver kit (you can't beat this price anywhere) : SE DD312 12-Piece Stainless Steel Wax Carvers Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000SVRSRY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CMOQCb61J6RYC

Also, this ultrasonic cleaner and portable case with ice packs is a must for me (all recommendations from waxpen & r/saionara):

Ultrasonic: Yesker Professional Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner with Digital Timer for Eyeglasses, Rings, Coins https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DKDAVW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zNOQCbYCNV3EB

goldwheat Portable Insulin Cooler Bag Diabetic Organizer Medical Travel Cooler Pack + 2 Ice Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E3MS782/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_7NOQCb3RB56GX

Never would have got this dialed in without these subs & HVT! I am barely even using flower anymore.

  1. TC is definitely way better in my opinion. Keeps the coil from burning too hot which keeps the vapor nice and smooth and preserves the flavor better. Want a bigger rip? Just up the temp.
  2. 375 degrees with the SS Black Ceramic.
  3. You need a metal pick. I believe the sai came with a metal concentrates tool, but I don't quite remember. I use a metal poker that came with my DBV herbal vape. It's basically just a long metal needle.
  4. You're gonna want something like this. Definitely recommend the rubber ones over the hard plastic cuz you can squeeze em and maneuver the wax a bit better.

    >Anything else you'd like yo throw in your comment would be welcomed!

A big chunk of it is trial and error until you get used to it. Doesn't take too long, though. One major thing is DON'T WAIT TOO LONG TO CLEAN YOUR COILS. I clean mine about every 3-5 days, depending on usage. Don't wait until it's all black and nasty and rezzed up to clean it. It just won't clean as well as you want it to. Oh, also, less is more. No bigger than a grain of rice and even that may be too big depending on your personal vaping style. If you put too much on there, it'll just gunk everything up and make it harder to clean.

The Hydro Tube from HVT is a great accessory for the Sai, but it definitely made my setup top-heavy and it was only a matter of time until a bump shattered it on my desk. What better way to fix this than by getting the world's most powerful and heaviest box mod, the 400W (with firmware update) quad-18650 Wismec Reuleaux RX300? I can confirm that my setup is now firmly anchored to my desk and will not tip. I'm expecting the batteries to last me about a week between charges at 10-15W. Now I just need Vic to hook me up with some quad Kanthal wax coils so I can start cloud chasing ;)

Here's another pic of my setup with the RX300 next to the eVic VTwo Mini mod I was using before. Notice how small the footprint of the old mod is by comparison! No wonder it tipped over all the time.

Here's a pic of my TiSai with Tesla Stealth TC40, the new RX300 with Sai and Hydro Tube, and the old VTwo Mini mod.

(Sorry for the water spots in the photos, I swear I cleaned up first!)

If you're interested in the RX300 watch DJLsb's video review here, it's very detailed and seems to give a fair overview of the mod's technical shortcomings. The 510 connection seems to be a major upgrade over previous Wismec devices which were flaky, but it doesn't do proper balanced charging/discharging so you should not drain the batteries too near to empty or charge them too close to full in the mod. You really need a good external charger for this, something powerful or you'll be leaving them on the charger overnight.

I picked up my RX300 from VapeNW along with 4 x Sony VTC6 batteries. They kinda gouged on the batteries but shipping was free and so it ended up being a reasonable deal, and they shipped VERY promptly.

In the pics is a Black Silicone Protective Wrap Sleeve for Wismec RX300 by ModSkins, $9.95 on Amazon, recommended both for protection and to reduce the risk of it slipping out of your hand.

I've also hooked it up to a 10" beaker bong using this whip tubing from Amazon paired with these adapters from DHgate.

The compactness of the honeybird bubbler is the best part, fits right in my Pelican case with my gear.

I hear great things about the TAG Hydrotube, been wanting to try that out as well.

Puffitup has a couple options I have read positive things about and have considered going with as well. PLus they always have 15% off anything on their site + free shipping just use code "PUFFEDUP"

Scope 14mm bubbler (similar to sneaky pete tube)

Sipper Bubbler Mouthpiece (14mm & 18mm options)

I keep the reclaim as well, just evap the 99% alcohol. Probably has more junk in it vs everclear, never really looked. If you want something easier than a hair dryer pick up a heat gun off amazon for like $20. Usually has a neat little heat direction shield with it. I use mine for shrinkwrap, battery wraps (same thing just with graphics), melting glue off stuff, warming up my coffee cup, pretty much anything and much more efficient than the hair dryer. :)

I recommend anyone who uses a lot of concentrates look into getting an Ultrasonic Cleaner for cleaning. I got a cheap one on Amazon that works well. I fill it with near boiling water and drop a ziplock baggy with ISO and dirty coils in and cycle it a few times. Coils come out pretty clean without any scrubbing. If there's built up carbon on the coils, it doesn't get it all off but certainly works better than hot ISO bath alone.

A friend of mine recently got one from eBay that has a heater and settable timers and does a much better job than the one I have

This is what i have been using now for about a month and love them. They are 5ml ultraviolet glass jars with BPA free lids. They block out the light so no degrading of the THC, terps, or other components. They are also airtight so they keep in the smell perfectly.

I used silicone jars for about a year now and glad i switched to glass. The silicone jars whether it be food grade or medical grade platinum cured, will leech at some point.

If I had that set up, it would be "Wake and Break" lol Actually, I kind of do have that setup, is that an ELeaf? I use the hydro tube, it seems if you had 3-4 more drops of water in there, it would tip over... lol PS I got a nice Black combo lock box on amazon that is a better way to keep it and to travel (sandwich it with foam). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MX6V8QG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

/u/maxvapor710 has the drag on his site for a very competitive rate, and sells (18650) batteries as well. You can charge on the mod but it's nice to have extras you can just swap out, and for that an external charger is the way to go, and probably a bit safer as well. This is the one I have though I only paid $32 for it one year ago.

I've recently been using my Yocan Torch a lot (kinda went off of concentrates for a few months and only vaped flower, but now I'm stacking them; meaning I dab and vape herb simultaneously with a Y-adapter and my Arizer Extreme Q attached) and I found (what I think) is the best mod and firmware for it. Someone recommended this firmware when I was looking into get the Tubo X firmware for 'cruise control'. The sur_myevic firmware has autofire (cruise control), repeat (like replay), and a BUNCH of other features.

I have it installed on my eVic Basic ($18 on ebay). With the Yocan Torch you need something under 22mm. I've used an Ehpro mod 101, e-leaf Aster, and now this and it's perfect (the little white thing is this so I can quickly charge it.)

The documentation is in Russian, and there's no translation. So I used Google to translate it poorly, and figured out how to configure it for me.

the fw can only be used on these models
Joytech and Wismec mods

this is probably like my 5th hit. I kept coughing, and in the video couldn't clear it even. My process (since the EQ is more session VS the Torch being On-demand)

  • Slowly inhale vapor into the bong with the center post plugged (the Yocan Torch has some airflow to it in the base that kinda interferes with getting good suction) Usually my for 6-8 hits I can make very very thick

  • replace plug (I use a cork) with Yocan Torch, and using the sur_myevic fw I have 7.5s of autofire. so I just press the button, and do a hit. you can taste them mixed together.

  • usually I take 2-3 total hits (the vapor from the EQ seems to last that long)

  • clear bong

This will all vary with the size of the bong chamber. If it were smaller, less "stacked" hits.

So I've smoked/ate/vaped a lot of weed. And I revisited flower vaping after months of concentrates. I found that lacked "something". Now I can combine the two, and when I do... HOLY SHIT do I get stoned.

edit I watched again, and I'm rushing. I don't rush. Like there could be minutes between steps. sometimes I let the vapor just chill.

update oh didn't say this, but typically 1 dab lasts 4-6 hits, and the flower like 12+ hits. so I typically reload the torch a couple times within an EQ bowl

RIP /u/limbs_ he has been missed. I winged it the first 3 or 4 times but after getting widely varying resistances I posted here and using limbs diagrams and the video of how to fix the crimps I got it figured out.

I am a medical user with chronically shaky hands so I bought a micro crimper and a nice pair of flush cutters which is what made the difference for me. Without the flush cutters I also have found that there will be too much of the lead sticking out of the bottom. If this happens it is possible for the leads to catch while you screw in the atomizer to the device and will cause them to cross within the coil base which is definitely not going to be good.

My experience with consumer ultrasonic cleaners has been great. If you fill the chamber with water, but use a separate container to hold iso & your gear, you won't have to worry about cleaning.
I use this little fella https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Q2M17K/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=A3OI2CVBA9DB25&psc=1
[Sorry hyperlink isn't working] which was $30 when I bought it.

That and a shallow tupperware. Any cheap ultrasonic with reviews, really, just get the dimensions of the chamber and make sure you can find a suitable container. I remember reading about an immersible ultrasonic transducer, like just drop the end in a bucket and it vibrates the water, but couldn't find anything. Just industrial ones.

Here is the Amazon link to the Keck clip I have pictured, though they are currently coming up as unavailable. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GRH737K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its a very tight fit around the base of bubbler glass. The smaller top clip does not properly clip around the mouthpiece glass - the circumference of the glass is too small. But you pinch the metal by the lip of the glass which prevents the mouthpiece from coming out.

Highjacking top comment... I've already been just using the USB charger with my 2-battery mod, would it make sense to get a Nitecore D2 at this point or just do that when I replace these two batteries? Is the 'damage' already done, so to speak?

Also anyone know how this compares to the Nitecore D2? https://www.amazon.ca/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1495096723&sr=8-7&keywords=Nitecore+D2

The D2 is quite a bit pricier in Canada, it looks like.

hate to say it, as you are thinkin 'great, another thing to buy... but get the external charger, the usb circuitry is not robust enough in many folks eyes in most of these handheld mods. they are easy to snag on amazon, and worth the piece of mind that the battery will stop being charged when it reaches optimal capacity.

Get yours here for $5.15 w/ free amazon shipping.

They have 11 left in stock.

That's right. I'd get an 18650 mod like the eVic 60w with LG HG2 batteries, get a charger as well

u/Nature-balance · 2 pointsr/Waxpen

This is probably a good start. It’s not proprietary, so it’s cheaper. But I’ll keep looking for the official one I found.

I like this guy a lot for charging:

The Tesla TC70 Stealths are on sale. Get that, the regular Sai kit with all coils and a pair of batteries so you have a spare and a charger.

A little more than the kit but will get you more options and some of the more reliable batteries in the biz.
