Google drawings can help make some basic thumbnails. I don’t know much about Madden, but with that you can easily take a screenshot, do some basic editing, and add text. Unless you want custom graphics, then a cheap drawing tablet could be something you might consider purchasing. Vector and pixel graphics can also be done rather easily. I don’t think anyone is going to make you thumbnails though.

Some cheap drawing tablets btw:

Here’s one I’ve got, hasn’t arrived yet, but I liked it’s specs and the touch pad really set it apart:

It might also be a good idea to try and find a thumbnail kit online, they generally include various in game sprites. If you can, in game posing can also help create thumbnails, go to almost any gameplay channel and this can be seen in some thumbnails.

————————————————————

If somehow non of that works, try commissioning an artist for their rate as professional art takes a while to make, with or without a drawing.

————————————————————

Hope you can make some good thumbnails

Nice that sounds like fun. Besides the iPhone do you have any other equipment?

There is no shame in starting the channel with iPhone then investing in a camera once your channel gains traction. Your really going to want to make sure you have good audio. People will tolerate poor video if the audio is good. The iPhone XR camera isnt bad. It really all depends on your budget.

If you want to use your phone to begin with check out the Shure MV88+. Quality mic with a good stand for vlogging.

I'm starting out myself and been debating investing in a dslr but I ended up using my iphone for video and buying the mic above and a cheap light kit. For me the light kit was a huge quality booster. Luckily your outside so unless your shooting in the dark you may not need one.

Here is what I am using:
Video: iPhone 7 Plus

Mic: Shure MV88+ and BOYA by M1 Lavalier Microphone.

Light: Fovitec - 1x Photography & Video 20"x28" Softbox Continuous Lighting Kit

Software: Adobe Premier

Audio/Music: Pro Tools, FL Studio, Audacity
(I come from more of a audio background but Audacity is free and will get the job done for editing audio.)

Hey there u/qwertyblorty. Fantastic that you've decided to strike up a video-making hobby! Congratulations. What you're in need of is a basic lesson in cameras and videography-- and for that I'd direct you to the platform you're eager to get into: YouTube. You'll find an endless stream of all sorts of valuable instruction on YouTube by searching for simple phrases that might fit your needs. "How to get started making videos." "Best accessories for EOS Rebel sl1" "Video Lighting tips on a budget." Dig your toes in there first and that way you can make your own decisions from the data you uncover instead of relying on some bozo on Reddit to tell you that a sensible starter tripod for you camera would be the InnerTeck Portable Tripod...

Keep making the videos you'd want to see. If others aren't that into it, fuck em, keep going. Have fun working so the process is its own reward, it will be very fulfilling. As you continue you'll get better and better and better.

Robert Rodriguez started with vhs tapes as a kid, editing from one vcr to another. He made tons of videos and credits his time doing so with a lot of what he learned and why he was able to become a professional. We learn by doing, so keep doing what you do. $62 but this is an amazing webcam, use this one for business meetings, great quality. The Logitech 310 (720p-only but $35) is good too if that one is out of your price range.

If you can do natural light, it is always best!
I got a set from amazon awhile back that I use ...

It's pretty nice having more then one light.
It depends also on the videos u r making.

Drag and drop? Phew. Well. Listen....I really urge you to gird your loins and apply your intellect to learning a proper NLE. You may think, "Ugh, frustration-ville here I come," but I gotta tell you down the not so long road you're going to be much much happier. I use Vegas Pro 14 and it does 4k...but the cost of entry is a little steep. Would you be okay with 1080p for a while until you get your socks pulled up? There are millions of Vegas tutorials out there...you could start with a $60-$80 version -- heck, this ones $50 (though I would say to step up one level for extra included goodies): https://www.amazon.com/VEGAS-Movie-Studio-14-Download/dp/B06X94P3K9/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494215685&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=vegas+movie+studio&psc=1

Drag and drop...Corel Video Studio? I have one of those and it sucks big time. If you take my advice and go the Vegas route, Movie Studio Zen really does the calm step by step build on skill by skill by not overwhelming you all at once. Please, do yourself a favour and get something decent to edit with.

Depends on your budget and what videos ur making.

Shotgun mic:TAKSTAR SGC-598
https://www.amazon.com/TAKSTAR-SGC-598-Interview-Microphone-Camcorder/dp/B00E58AA0I

Camera I would recommend: Canon vixia hf r800
https://www.amazon.com/Canon-VIXIA-HF-R800-Camcorder-Black/dp/B01N7OAH3I?th=1&psc=1

Video editing depends what your computer can handle and what video ur making. I use hitfilm express which is free. However it needs a decent gpu of some sort. Shotcut on the other hand is pretty basic and runs well on lower end hardware.

(Make sure you use express)https://fxhome.com/

so like this?

Welllllll

First, I recommend either a ^^^^totallylegitimate copy of Paint tool SAI or a free copy of firealpaca. You could also do flash but I don't know how to do those. You're also going to need a drawing tablet, which I recommend this one that I use. What these guys do is they draw around a dozen basic expressions of their character (happy, sad, angry, confused, annoyed, etc) and save them all. Now you need a video editing software. I recommend a ^^^^totallylegitimate copy of sony vegas. Then they get the footage of the thing they're reviewing and some other images. The youtuber I liked in the very beginning has some advanced editing where he put his footage into a small tv, which I don't know how to do. But you can just alternate by showing some footage and going back to your character with some dragging and dropping and messing around with the software. Then they finally save it and export it.

Some of them do it all within flash though.

You can cut cost and get just as good of a processor by buying an AMD ryzen processor. Ryzen 2600 performs just as well as a majority of I7's out there. However 32GB is a must.

You can get some pretty decent ones on amazon, if your not into building your own.

With I7 level processors you won't really get better bang for your buck than with a Ryzen CPU.

Like this listing here:

You will however have to upgrade the RAM.

Renders really fast.

Warning: the following maybe super wrong as I have no first hand experience with this brand.

From my experience buying a condenser microphone should cost upwards of £70 Maybe £60 if youre super lucky and somewhere has a massive stock clearance sale. Go to a music store (online) and look at their condenser microphones and you'll see what I mean. These microphones are £20. I have absolutely no idea how they are charging almost 1/4 of the standard 'low price tier' microphones.

Again while I have no experience with either of the microphones you listed- I would advice you to tread very carefully. I feel like this is one of those occasions where the extremely low price is a reflection of the quality of the product.

In addition Id add that - this is pretty much an 'entry level' microphone that Ive used for about 10 years. Far from the best or even studio quality.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Technica-AT2020-Cardioid-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B0006H92QK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1469984857&sr=8-2&keywords=audio+technica+microphone .

Audio Technica at2020 mic is your friend here buddy, get it with the "bought together stuff" it's what I use, another youtuber bought it for me and it works like a charm (it also has a headphone jack).

u/welsknight · 1 pointr/youtube

Realistically, you're pretty much gonna need a mic. However, you're not going to necessarily need an expensive mic. Find something within your budget. With a little audio editing in Audacity (a free program), even a mic like this one can sound tolerable enough for Youtube.

If you can afford $20, this CAD U1 is actually a fantastic mic for the money.

If you can afford $40, I'd strongly recommend the CAD U37, which is the mic I used personally until I hit about 50,000 subscribers.

There are plenty of options out there even for an extremely tight budget, but you're going to need something in today's day and age.

u/Ventain · 1 pointr/youtube

Hey there! I don't know much at all about hand-helds, I can only reccommend what I know and use.

I most recently use the Logitech C920 for my videos. I'm assuming that if you're filming reviews in front of your computer, that portability is not an issue?

And because of the terrible webcam audio that seems to plague all webcams, the Blue Snowball is a terrific, budget starter mic to give you some great sound at a terrific price.

Both are USB, the Snowball is plug and play, but the camera comes with nifty mini recording package that you can install and start using right away to shoot video.

u/Top_Agent · 1 pointr/youtube

Buy a green screen like this one about $60 and a cheap webcam for $50 and for lighting $60

u/DavidSixtyFour · 1 pointr/youtube

What's your budget?
Logitech C920 is kind of the industry standard.
