To be frank, they're hideous. They look like wrinkly plastic. They are definitely square-toed. Those folded ridges are awful too.
There's not much great below $100, but you can surely do better than these for near $100. If you want a good dress shoe for interviews and occasional formal events, you're much better off with a classic black cap toe.

Even better would be 2nds of Allen Edmonds Park Aves. I think seconds can sometimes be found for less. Regardless, that is the style of shoe you should be looking for. No plasticky sheen, no square toe, no tacky flair.
