there u go
At first glance, the MSI is better. If the 1ms response time is true grey-to-grey, then the VA panel will look better then the TN. TN is generally faster, but they're both rated at 1ms, so assuming that's true, the VA will give the better contrast and viewing angles. However, it's not as bright as the AOC and it's also not VESA-mountable, so mounting it to an arm or wall-mounting it isn't possible. The prices are close enough that it comes down to preference on specific convenience items. Even with curved vs flat is subjective and something only you can decide.
Personally, if it were my budget, I would split the price difference and get the AOC C24G1. It essentially combines the best features of both monitors you listed and falls right in between their budget. It has nearly identical panel specs to the MSI, but is $10 cheaper and is VESA mountable, allowing more flexibility if you ever want to go multi-monitor. It also has a good record of being G-Sync compatible on the majority of games and applications. It's been a crowd favorite for a long time for a reason- it's an amazing price-to-performance option.

i hate the colour of the "gaming" one and i love the bezellessness of the IPS one.
i am NOT a stickler for response time etc. both of these will be better than a old 2012 32" LG TV. before that I had a old old dell monitor 1024x768.
I have a 2600 with a RX 580 in my cart. Any advice on my pieces also?
Is it worth it? Hell yes. Man I've been gaming since Nintendo 64 i know im not that old, but as someone who played consoles their whole life, i can tell you that when i built my first pc about 7 months ago and started gaming on 130+ fps/hz....dude it was soooo butter smooth it made my stomach turn until i got used to it. (I mean that in a good way but also quite literally). As for an ultawide monitor although ive never tried one i don't think personally it would be my thing. I use a AOC C24G1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07GD7H18F?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title <<< that one. It's 160 bucks which to me is pretty cheap for what you get. Sorry for long reply.

I use the 27 inch version of this one and im very happy. My Flatmate uses the samsung and im a little jealous about is colours but oh well :D

I'd probably go with this keyboard with OTEMU Red switches, definitely avoid Blues as they aren't rapid press types and quite a bit louder than Red/Brown:

As for a 144Hz monitor, I don't know what to tell you, there's no $100 model out there. This is the lowest I could find:

and there's definitely no G-sync models anywhere near that if you have an Nvidia GPU.

Just know that $150 is about the cheapest you’ll find them, so they won’t necessarily be super high quality. But, they’ll work...
Here is the AOC 24inch 144hz monitor for $145
Here is the Sceptre 24inch 144hz monitor for $155. Linus tech tips did a review on the cheaper Sceptre monitors and was actually really pleased with them.
So, from these 2, id probably go with the Sceptre.

Highly recommend this monitor. It's VA so it is a good middle ground between TN and IPS panels. It also has a height adjustable stand which you may not think you need it but you'll wish you have it after you buy a monitor without one. Also 24" is ideal as 27" 1080p monitors start to get a bit blurry

This one has a VA panel and looks nice IMO. Of course the curved style is not for everyone.

Get the CPU and motherboard at Microcenter for the bundle discount.
The Cougar MX330 case only comes with a rear fan, so I added a fan for the front. You could grab another one of these fans to have 2 front fans if you want.
Some people like to crap on this power supply and claim that it lacks critical protection features. It doesn't. The old M12II lacked those features. The EVO edition has those protections.
This is likely to be complete overkill for your monitor's resolution. It's probably 1600x900 or something like that.
Maybe you could get something like this in the future.
Both are a pair of AOC C24G1 and thank you
What are your thoughts on this monitor? My plan is to do dual so I'd like to get two. Is this something I could handle with a 1660? Any and all thoughts appreciated :)
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F
Why are you looking at those particular monitors? Personally, I'm not sure either is a really good choice. First of all, 1080P at 27 inches has fairly low pixel density. It's not unusable, and I've had a 1080P monitor in that size before, but overall 1440P is generally recommended for that size. Text will be much sharper on a 24 inch 1080P monitor, or a 27inch 1440P monitor.
But even if you're looking at 1080P. I'd suggest something like an AOC C24G1 (or AOC C27G1 if you really want 27 inches). Those monitors cost less than the 144 Hz Asus, are both still 144 Hz/Freesync compatible, and they are VA panels so their contrast ratio is significantly better than those Asus panels. Higher contrast results in significantly better image quality, which is worth the trade-offs, in my opinion. VA does means somewhat slower response time, but they are still pretty good, and I'd gladly give up a small amount of response time for deeper blacks.
AOC C24G1/C27G1: https://www.amazon.ca/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F/
You're welcome to get whatever you want, but I think the AOC C24G1 is basically one of the best bang/buck monitors on the market right now, and by being only 24 inches you get better pixel density for a 1080P display. I'd certainly also take the C27G1 over either of those Asus monitors.
Here's a review of the C24G1: https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-c24g1/
The PCmonitors.info site offers some pretty thorough reviews, in case you want to consider any of the other models that they've reviewed.
Regarding 144 Hz. I would pay up for 144 Hz. Either that or go up to 1440P. Don't get a 1080P 75 Hz monitor in 2019, IMO. A lot of people saying 75 Hz is OK probably haven't actually experienced the smoothness of 144 Hz. Plus, with adaptive sync, you can still run at less than the full panel refresh rate without issue. Assuming you're planning on keeping this monitor for 5-10 years, you're better off either getting more resolution or higher refresh rate.
Anyway, those are my two cents. Take them for what you will.
Literally just bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F

anyone have any experience with this monitor?
That's really comforting to hear. Glad that they seem to be among the better pre-built companies. Also what monitor do you use? I have a really old ASUS 21", and I just ordered this guy:

Might not be the best of the best but it seems solid. For now I'm trying a Radeon RX 580 card + that to revive my current rig, but I can see using that monitor and my old one on your rig or something similar.
I see. What are your thoughts on these two: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GD7H18F/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KGMQGDT/ref=ox_sc_act_image_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 ?

Possibly save a bit of money on the monitor for mostly the same specs and go with a AOC C24G1 its still curved as well

Why is VA not as good as IPS for gaming.
I keep researching this but I've never had ips myself. I just keep seeing that IPS has better colors but worse blur and response times.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
24”, 144hz, 1ms response time, free sync & VA panel and less than $150 at the time of writing this.
Hurry Up!! it was 145$ yeterday, 115$ today, i just buy two of them after watching multiple reviews

The Dell S419HGF went for sale for $99 today and you can try and pick it up again on Monday, but if you don't want that you can also pick up this one for $144: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=24+inch+144hz+1ms+monitor&qid=1574973706&s=electronics&sr=1-4

IMO you should probably upgrade to a 1080p 144hz one - possibly this one but it is backordered quite a bit.

>This< is an excellent monitor that isn't super expensive.
For Windows, your just going to have to use the free version of Windows at this budget. Don't worry, basically the only difference is that there's a watermark in the corner of the screen. You can see how to do that here.
Okay so I know I said I wouldn't need a 144hz monitor but I'm kind of tempted to get the AOC C24G1 or this HP since it's VESA compatible.
I'm thinking I get the AOC and switch my main monitor to my second monitor and use the AOC 144hz as the main to watch movies and play games. It's curved so I'm not sure what to expect from that...
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F
My friend just got this one he likes it a lot. It also comes with a sick warranty that most monitors won't have.
Also you can check here https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/
Stay within 24-27in. monitors its the sweet spot especially for competitive FPS shooters
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-24G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B07GD7H18F?th=1

I don't see it in the pictures. From USA.

The 1440p AOC computers do have USB ports https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG241QX-Adaptive-Sync-DisplayPort-QuickSwitch/dp/B07S763RKF/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=aoc%2B1440%2B144hz&qid=1573547847&s=electronics&sr=1-3&th=1
this is the one imma get and it looks p good
It’s a VA 1080p 144hz 1ms monitor from AOC
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_-Ba0DbZMFSNFF
Its 1080p and 144hz, which wont matter much because you're on console, but it will be good if you ever get a pc.
same here! there was a good deal on an AOC monitor, but it's 1080p

https://www.amazon.ca/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F
How about this to save some money?
AOC C24G1 24" Curved Frameless Gaming Monitor, FHD 1080p, 1500R VA Panel, 1ms 144Hz, FreeSync, Height Adjustable, VESA, 3-Year Zero Dead Pixels
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_euP2Db2NA8WXM
I don't think RTX 2060 will be sufficient enough to reach 1440p @144Hz in AAA games. (for esports games like CSGO, LOL, Dota2 you probably could do 1440p @144Hz
You are probably better of running 1080p @144Hz.
Regarding the PPI, 1080p will look better on the 24 inch than the 27 inch.
I have done some reading around regarding 144Hz monitors and concluded the best monitor is the AOC 24G2.
Its IPS 1080p 144Hz Freesync but sadly it isn't available currently on Amazon.
So if you are willing to wait, I believe this is the best choice.
If you can't wait however, the other options are the TN panels or VA panels. With TN Panels the common complaints are regarding the inferior colors, the bad viewing angles.
On the other hand with the VA panels are with the ghosting.
For VA panels there are the AOC 24G1 Curved 1080p 144Hz Freesync
Hey bro just wanted to update you if you are curious. My build is finished as of this weekend and I activated windows this morning. The monitor I ended up going for was this one:
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=mp_s_a_1_2
It is treating me well and I love the computer. Thanks for helping me out earlier!
Depends what you're looking for

The BenQ is pretty old already, and honesty overpriced at this time. I had it but didn’t like it too much.
Can’t speak to the Acer but I’ve had bad experiences with the brand itself in the past.
Maybe you wann look at this one https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=gaming%2Bmonitor%2Bva%2Bpanel&qid=1570427658&sprefix=gaming%2Bmonitor%2Bva&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1

cpu: ryzen 5 3600, one of the best value cpus on the market. Here is the passmark.
cpu cooler: stock cooler is fine
thermal paste: I suggest this for all ryzen 3000 builds even though the included air cooler has a stock paste applied. (requires removing the stock paste with alcohol) This ensures the best thermal conductivity. This is very important because of how the new chips are designed.
memory: a budget option of ddr4 3000mhz 16Gb of ram, for another $20 can upgrade to ddr4 3600mhz 16 latency memory (ryzen 3000 series processors benefit from faster memory, and will gain about a 3% performance boost in both gaming and other workloads, this was the only performance downgrade in the build)
storage: 500Gb m.2 ssd, middle of the pack speed, goes on sale often, 5-year warranty, a budget downgrade from 1Tb of storage for another $40
motherboard: a very budget motherboard, but should be fine for completing the build. It's a MAX version meaning it's ryzen 3000 compatible out of the box.
videocard: as explained above, the 1660 ti. here are the benchmarks compared with some other videocards when using the ryzen 5 3600. this is the average framerate across 40 games. If you needed to save some money, maybe could shop for a used 1660 ti or go with a 1660. The 1660 doesn't have NEW NVENC for streaming games, and it's also slightly worse gaming performance (still very good for the cost).
case: a budget mid-tower case, it's totally fine, it's larger than it looks, it has 3 pre-installed fans, doesn't look half bad
power supply: a budget power supply, still great value for money, 500 watts is totally fine for this build as both the 1660 ti and the ryzen 5 3600 are extremely power efficient
Monitor: I custom added this part, it wasn't on PCPartPicker. It's a 24inch, IPS (great color depth), Flat panel (I don't like curved at this screen size), 144hz, 1ms response time panel. At $180 it is more expensive than the $140 curved VA panel from AOC.
That's about it! I didn't want to go with a ryzen 5 2600 because it would downgrade both the gaming performance and the multi-threaded performance. The ryzen 7 2700 is also a significant gaming downgrade, but is fine for multi-threaded (still too expensive currently). Let me know if you have any questions!
I am curious about that curved one (fyi it's this one in case anyone's looking) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/
considering 2 for dualies, but strictly for productivity. anyone used dual curved for productivity?
if not a good idea, then i am considering these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KGMQGDT/
Sure! I dont really care that much for the absolute best quality, 1080 would do. Just want a 144hz really :P
I found two, let me know what you think of them, or if u have other recommendations:
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=AOC%2Bc24g1&qid=1571357232&sr=8-2&th=1
and
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XFA240-bmjdpr-Response-Technology/dp/B06ZYHZ6R6/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=acer+xf240h+bmjdpr&qid=1571356704&sr=8-2
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=dp_cerb_1?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Here’s my monitor. I can say I love it, and is super cheap.
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F
1 ms response time
144 hz
1080p
23.6 inches
What is your budget?
For around $230 you can get 144Hz Freesync. Even if you cannot fully use it now, it would future proof for if/when you upgrade your system.
Reviews are showing this could be the best value in a gaming monitor:
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Monitor-1920x1080-FreeSync/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1536791965&sr=1-1&keywords=C24G1
There is also a 27" version for $50 more.
https://www.productchart.com/monitors/19538_vs_24988https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/9m5s1f/difference_between_msi_optix_g24c_and_optix_mag24c/I have read a bit about the difference and I think I was going to buy the mag version as it is the updated version and has a few improvements with a lesser price but when I got to billing on Newegg the price added up VAT and Shipping Cost which brought the price up to 21000 so I think I will have to reconsider my decision as Newegg states that it does not include any customs duty as well.

Because of this, I am now considering the AOC C23G1 at 22000 it doesn't have the same peak brightness and has 82% NTSC but it's coming from a source that I trust and know won't charge me any extra customs duty
there is also a more expensive Samsung LC24F at 24000 with vesa
and a much cheaper Acer Nitro at 14000 its IPS but with 75hz and 250 nits though it has vesa
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=twister_B07LBKXMN5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
this one? the 24 inch? It looks more expensive to me. Is that because it's 1ms instead of 4ms? I wonder if the difference would be noticable
Thank you for the post. Been looking for a good monitor for the 1 ms 144Hz 1080p section. I have a question tho. Between Samsung C24FG73 and AOC-C24G1, which do you think is better in terms of image clarity and performance?
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F
i have this monitor and its great for gaming. but its little over 200$

There is no retail Windows included, as you can run unactivated Windows or even just purchase codes for cheap.

Regarding monitors I will post 2 links, first would be for 60hz 1080p 24'' IPS monitor at around 90$ and other will be for +120hz 1080p 24'' IPS/VA monitor at around 180$. You have the option, both choices are probably better than what built in laptop offers.
24'' 1080p IPS 75hz with FreeSync 90$
24'' 1080p VA 144hz with FreeSync 180$
This will net you around same price at way better experience by smooth gameplay cause of higher performance and better monitor with also longer longevity.
It's a good build and I recommend this monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/?tag=pcpapi-20
if you want 1440p
1080p 120 Hz monitors aren't really made anymore, there's just 144 Hz.
C24G1 is a good option if you're on a budget.
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=C24G1&qid=1569124643&s=music&sr=8-1

I recommend this, VA and 144hz.
That CPU holds up surprising well these days, so for your basic games, as mentioned , it should be okay. I'd go to 16gb of RAM at 2666mhz, get an mx500 SSD for your OS, this monitor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/?tag=pcpapi-20 , and get a new model RX 5700 (with two or more fans). Let me know if you want me to pick the specific parts
I ended up getting this one: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C24G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=AOC+C24G1&qid=1565644426&s=gateway&sr=8-1
VA panel, got a good review on pcmonitors.info, and was only $160 on Amazon. I'll probably be happier with that, with the better colors and contrast, than with a TN one.
Thanks.
I've been looking at either this AOC 24" 1080p 144hz or this Dell 27" 1440p 155hz

Compared to this monitor do you think this is a better bang for your buck or is it relatively the same? I’ve personally never heard of AOC and don’t want to stare at a crummy monitor to save $15.
of these two which one would you get https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/?tag=pcpapi-20
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004YK4I/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
assuming they are both the same price
