Good move. You can get a TPMS only unit, similar to this Autel TS408 you can review their models, they all have different features.
I do work on a lot of cars so I have a full tablet MP808K but it uses the same TPMS software. Autel MP808K
You can find them much cheaper FYI, just using Amazon for ease on mobile. I’m mixed about all the special features Autel has but the TPMS works fine.
Well, in case any other poor schmuck runs into this, I think what I need to do is buy a tool to scan the sensors wirelessly so that I can identify the actual TPMS sensor IDs. I've bought this tool from Amazon. I'm planning on using that to ID the sensors that I jacked up on my car's computer, and then re-program them to the actual sensor ID, which I think should do the trick. I'll post an update if this is successful. I'm then going to return that tool and I think this will save me from having to pay some outlandish sum at the dealership or tire shop.
