It was on sale for $10 when I bought it. You can definitely find a good one for 5-10 bucks, but I would strongly advise you to buy from a reputable brand. The cheap brands, and this hold true for any piece of hardware with whatever solution you pursue, are often of poor build quality and can cause problems with your other devices. Make sure to read reviews and all that, and like I said, stay with known quantities if possible.

Alright. The Blue Yeti Microphone is a pretty sensitive mic, so it might be picking up some noise from the entrance on your USB. See if you can try some different USB ports, and if one of them don't give the fuzz, well then there you have it.

Otherwise, you might be able to fix this with a USB hub. Here is a USB hub you could consider. Don't quote me on this, though. I don't know for sure this will work, but you can watch this video which will show you it works for that guy, using the exact hub I linked you to.

I have a tiny powered USB 2.0 hub, but it seems to be out of production now. Belkin has one that looks nearly identical that fits your description.

For the case, if you don't need it to be bullet and/or waterproof, PlastiCase has cheaper alternatives in nice form factors.
