Agreed. I've had my original m50's for probably around 5 years now and they have held up wonderfully.

If you do pick a pair of these up, though, (especially if you have large/sensitive ears like me, or you just like really fucking comfy headphones, do yourself a favor and get these. They really do complete the headphones and frankly, the stock earpads are shit. They're thin and painful to use (if your ears are normal sized, they probably wont fit around your ears, and aren't very deep. These are soft, plush, and deep enough for almost any sized ear to fit in. 10/10.

I got them off a drop on Massdrop for $20, but that site requires an account to view things. There's currently a drop for some pads that would fit the ATH-M50X there, but I might recommend some Brainwavz memory foam pads, as they would change the sound less.

Get an amp and DAC later, but for now, make sure you get some deeper pads for those M50x's.

haha, well damn. See, I'm new to this stuff too. Specifically THESE.

Hello, I bought these from Amazon. It was a little hard to put them into place (had to stretch a bit) but once done there was no problem. They are pleather though not velour.

hello, im happey to say that there is an option for you, today i have got my new Brainwavz Replacement Memory Foam Earpads and they are awesome!

It dose "change" the sound and if you ask me, it sound better then the normal pads, the pads are big and feel great.

The pads make those headphones sound more "open" and add more space to the sound stage. It dose make the Bass softer.

I currently own a Sennheiser HD212 Pro and the earpads are pretty worn out.

I wanted to buy these as a replacement but am unsure if they will fit:

HD 598? Comfortable, flat, 50 Ohm, good soundstage.

EDIT: HM5 Leather/Pleather? Pads to replace the velour

Also, while you claim to prefer flat, I'd like to point out that the PC 360s are flat. Also I just realized the 598s use the same exact driver. Maybe you'll actually like a V-shaped sound more? Consider DT-770s or maybe SHP-9500s.

Using ATH-M50X headphones at the moment, and was wondering what the pros and cons of changing the pads on these would be?
Talking about something like this.
Do they make the headphones more comfortable? And what about the sound quality?

Please keep in mind that I am from a country with quite the warm weather

Looking for replacement earcups for M50x

Budget: Just something not too expensive (30 or less probably)

The comfort of the stock pads is fine, but they are peeling. Dont have many requests for new ones except that I dont lose the bass from the headphones.

Was thinking about these 2. Prefer to order from Amazon

I use ATH-M50x's with Brainwavz earpads

Literally the most comfortable you can get IMO, I mean it just feels like two pillows on your ears. It's amazing, completely wraps around your ears with more cushion than you could ever need

Here are pics of my headset (dBrand skin + Better earpads)

I recommend to get some new pads for those m50x's. I dislike the pads on them personally. I got some HM5 pads for my other headphones and love them to death. I'd get the velor red pads or the pleather red pads. Not these do take a bit of bass away but gives a better sound stage. The velor pads will also let the heat escape and it won't be as hot compared to the pleather however the velor will leak some more sound then the pleather.

I'm not OP, but after doing a quick search on amazon, it looks like these. I'm thinking about upgrading mine the same way as OP.

I'm replacing the earpads on my ATH M50X as my ears stick out too much and the speakers touch them, which is very uncomfortable.

I'm looking at purchasing one of these:

I'm not sure what the difference is though. They seem the same.
